The five-year warranty of concealed water and electricity works for home decoration is stipulated by the state, which was implemented after the promulgation of "Administrative Measures for Interior Decoration of Residential Buildings" in 2002.

According to Article 32 of the Administrative Measures for Interior Decoration of Residential Buildings, under normal use conditions, the minimum warranty period for interior decoration of residential buildings is two years, and the leakage prevention of kitchens, bathrooms and exterior walls with waterproof requirements is five years. The warranty period is calculated from the date when the residential interior decoration project is completed and accepted.

Article 48 These Measures shall come into force as of May 6, 2002.
