Scavengers have their own "contracted" areas. For example, Aunt Qi, who is known as the "elder sister of scavengers" in the community, is responsible for eight garbage cans downstairs, and also for the garbage cans without scavengers and the garbage cans in the underground garage in Building 10. For them, the bigger the area, the more they earn. However, in these areas, Aunt Qi needs some property-related personnel to get it.

This year, Beijing introduced the regulations on the management of domestic garbage, and the property management department has informed these "garbage pickers" that they can't pick them up next year.

With the acceleration of urbanization and the increase of urban population in China, there are more and more municipal solid wastes. The amount of garbage handled by garbage pickers every year is basically equal to the amount of garbage handled by the environmental protection department stipulated by the government, which not only saves some garbage disposal expenses for the government, but also enables garbage pickers to obtain higher income.

High income is the motivation of scavengers. Living conditions are getting better and better, and few people mention the virtue of "frugality". A packed carton and a beverage bottle are useless to many people, so it is common to throw them into the trash can. For scavengers, it is a great wealth to collect plastic bottles, cartons and garbage bags that thousands of people don't need. For them, this is not a shameful thing. After all, isn't it silly not to make money?

Behind the high income of scavengers, it also reflects the current weak public awareness of environmental protection. The sanitation workers all over the street, garbage cleaning equipment and trash cans everywhere make many people feel that the environment is much better than before. What else do we need to do?

In fact, environmental protection is not only to protect the environment and make it beautiful and tidy, but also to make effective use of resources.

The earth's resources are limited, and many of them are non-renewable. It is uncertain when these resources will be used, but if they are not planned and used, they will be exhausted or even disappeared sooner or later. Many western developed countries have long been aware of this, so they attach great importance to the maximization of resource utilization and resource reuse.

As a neighboring country of our country, its land area and natural resources are scarce, so it attaches great importance to the protection and reuse of resources. They have been instilled with the consciousness of garbage classification since childhood, and the classification is very fine. Before throwing garbage, plastic bottles, caps and trademarks on bottles should be neatly stacked separately, and then thrown into different trash cans. The finished yogurt box and lid should be opened separately, and the lid should be cleaned before putting it.

In other countries, garbage collection has a fixed time, and different garbage uses different recycling methods. First of all, garbage should be classified, green garbage (peel, vegetable leaves, weeds, etc. ) should be buried in your own garden; Collect domestic garbage once every two weeks and waste paper once a month. Other garbage also has a fixed recycling time and is sent to the recycling station after classification.

After years of management, saving, environmental protection and garbage sorting have formed good habits in many countries.

China took the lead in launching a pilot project of municipal waste sorting in 49 cities across the country, requiring residents to sort their garbage before dumping it. Although the requirements are not detailed enough, it is a good attempt after all.
