What is the Civil Code?

"Civil Code (China Declaration and Protection of Civil Rights)" generally refers to the Civil Code of People's Republic of China (PRC) (China Declaration and Protection of Civil Rights).

People's Republic of China (PRC) Civil Code is known as "encyclopedia of social life", which is the declaration and guarantee of civil rights. If the Constitution focuses on restricting public rights, then the Civil Code focuses on protecting private rights. Almost all civil activities, from signing contracts and setting up companies to paying property fees and divorce, can be found in the Civil Code.

On May 28th, 2020, the Third Session of the 13th National People's Congress voted to pass the Civil Code of People's Republic of China (PRC), which came into effect on October 28th.

After deliberation, the collegial panel decided that the defendant should compensate the plaintiff for medical expenses, nursing expenses, transportation expenses, hospital food subsidies, disability compensation and appraisal fees totaling 825 12.29 yuan, and mental damages totaling 10000 yuan.
