It was built on the site of the original steam turbine room of Dongzhimen Water Plant, the first water plant in Beijing history. It is the first technical museum specializing in water supply in China. At the entrance of the museum, in front of a seven-meter-high "Source of Life" sculpture, three deformed ancient Han dragons are vigorous and powerful. The history of human water use, the basic knowledge of water, the preciousness of water resources, the production process of tap water, the key points of water supply technology, water-saving knowledge and the development process of modern water supply in China are exhibited in the museum.

At present, there are three exhibition halls in the exhibition hall. The first part: efforts and struggles; The second part: Qingquan is a mirror of the past and present; The third part: the vigorous development after the reform and opening up.
