Zhujiang Street (formerly known as Zhujiang Overseas Chinese Farm) was built in 1952. After the completion of the Pearl River Overseas Chinese Farm, it was managed by Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Committee, Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Administration and Farm Administration successively. 1992, Guangzhou Pearl River Management Zone was established. In February, 2008, with the study of Guangzhou Municipal Government and the consent of the provincial government, the Pearl River Management Zone was abolished and the Zhujiang Sub-district Office in Nansha District was established.
