The main building of Xi 'an Museum-Museum * * * Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall * * was creatively designed by Zhang Jinqiu, academician of China Academy of Engineering, designer of Shaanxi Provincial History Museum and famous architect. The real name of Little Wild Goose Pagoda is Jianfu Temple Pagoda. Built in 707 AD, between Tang Zhongzong and the Year of the Dragon, Jianfu Temple is located in Chang 'an in Tang Dynasty. It is a pagoda for storing Buddhist scriptures and Buddha statues brought back from Tianzhu by the monk Yijing in the Tang Dynasty. The pagoda where Little Wild Goose Pagoda is located is part of Jianfu Temple, but it was not in Jianfu Temple at that time. In the war at the end of the Tang Dynasty, Jianfu Temple was repeatedly destroyed, and the temple was destroyed. Only the Little Wild Goose Pagoda is stored. Little Wild Goose Pagoda is a brick pagoda with dense eaves. This tower is made of blue bricks. The plane of this tower is square. The base of Little Wild Goose Pagoda is a square brick platform. There is an underground palace under the base, which is a vertical hole. The width of the tower gradually decreases from bottom to top, and the outline of the tower is conical. Small Wild Goose Pagoda is exquisite and beautiful, with beautiful shape and even proportion.
The tower of Little Wild Goose Pagoda is hollow in a single-wall tower, and there are no columns on the tower wall. The tower body has double eaves, each floor of the tower body has heavy bricks, with water chestnut teeth in the middle, and oblique tooth bricks are laid under each floor of the tower body surface. There is a ticket gate on the north and south sides of the tower bottom, which is a bluestone gate. The door frame is covered with exquisite line carvings in the Tang Dynasty, especially the image of heaven and man on the lintel, which has high artistic value. Semi-circular arch door openings are opened in the center of the north and south sides of each floor above the tower bottom. There is a wooden ladder in the Little Wild Goose Pagoda to climb to the top.
The brick gatehouse at the bottom of the tower, next to the tower outside the north gate, was built in the late Qing Dynasty. There is Shimenfang in the Qing Dynasty in the south of Taki, engraved with "Wan Hui En" in the south and "No Second Road" in the north. On the stone arch of the south gate at the bottom of the tower, there are creeping patterns and the image of heaven and man supporting, which is the same as the lintel of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. However, due to the age and poor protection, it has been incomplete and vague.
It turns out that there is a big eaves shed with brick and wood structure around the tower body at the bottom of the Little Wild Goose Pagoda, which is called "waist wrapping". In the war years of Jin and Yuan Dynasties, the "waist-girding" was destroyed.
Jianfu Temple was originally built in 684 AD, the first year of Tang Ruizong civilization. This is a Buddhist temple built by Li Dan in Tang Ruizong to pray for his father Tang Gaozong after his death. Formerly known as Jianfu Temple, it was renamed Jianfu Temple in 690 AD by Wu Zetian. Jianfu Temple is a famous royal temple in the Tang Dynasty and one of the important translation places of Buddhist scriptures in the Tang Dynasty. Jianfu Temple attracted many eminent monks in the Tang Dynasty, among which Master Yijing was the most famous. Jianfu Temple was destroyed by the war in the late Tang Dynasty. Later, Jianfu Temple was moved to Tayuan, which is now the location of Little Wild Goose Pagoda.
The existing ancient buildings of Jianfu Temple were rebuilt in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The ancient buildings in the temple generally continued the layout during the reconstruction of the Ming Dynasty. Temple buildings are concentrated on the central axis of the mountain gate, facing the Little Wild Goose Pagoda. From south to north, there are Shanmen, Bell and Drum Tower, Cishi Pavilion, Daxiong Hall, Tibetan Scripture Building, Little Wild Goose Pagoda and Baiyi Pavilion. There are also stone statues, horse pillars and other folk cultural relics in the temple, as well as various folk art exhibitions.
Since the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, the iron bell cast in the Jin Dynasty was moved to Jianfu Temple, and the bell was clear and far-reaching, supplemented by the shadow of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, forming the "Morning Bell of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda", one of the "Eight Scenes in Guanzhong" that has been passed down to this day. As a cultural relic, the iron clock of the Jin Dynasty is still displayed in the bell tower of Jianfu Temple.
There are ten ancient and famous trees in Jianfu Temple, including nine Sophora japonica and one Catalpa bungeana, which are about 800-1300 years ago. Among them, five Sophora japonica trees are distributed on both sides of the front central axis of Daxiong Hall, and the other four trees are distributed in the courtyard between Cishige South and Bell and Drum Tower.
