Xilin Bridge in Neijiang was not built by Zhang Daqian. In 1980s, in order to develop Dongxing District, a new urban area, Neijiang decided to build Xilin Bridge to connect the north and south traffic and improve the urban layout. Xilin Bridge was approved by Sichuan Provincial Construction Committee 1982, organized and implemented by Neijiang Xilin Bridge Engineering Headquarters, designed by china municipal engineering Southwest Design Institute and contracted by Sichuan Provincial Communications Department Bridge Engineering Company, with a total investment of 8.3 million yuan. The bridge crosses the Tuojiang River from North Street. The south bank of the bridge is connected with Chengdu-Chongqing Highway via binjiang road and Neihao Road, and the north bank is connected with Neian Road. Xilin Bridge, with a total investment of14.5 million yuan, 19851started construction on October 20th, and 1988 was completed and opened to traffic on September 29th. The bridge is 488.9 meters long and 36.3 meters high, with 6 piers and 2 sets. At both ends of the bridge, there are golden pavilions covered by red lights for tourists to take a nap. There is a marble bracket at the bridge head, and a circular copper-plated nameplate is fixed inside, engraved with four Chinese characters, namely Hao Ju's title Xilin Bridge, which is magnificent.
