Such large-scale urban ecological green belts are basically planned in developed areas, and green belts are high-quality residential areas. However, the per capita public green space in Chengdu is less than 10 square meter, and urban vents have been in a state of lack. According to the planning requirements of 198, the completed 198 square kilometer circular belt will become the urban air outlet and urban green lung of Chengdu, which is of great significance to the ecological environment and urban living environment of Chengdu. Wang Songtao said that the 198 area has been used as non-urban construction land for a long time, and it has not been included in urban planning management, so the land utilization rate is low. Nowadays, with the gradual advancement of Chengdu and the change of urban development pattern, the relationship between the central city and the suburbs is getting closer and closer, and the planning of this area needs to go to a new level. Therefore, under the condition of ensuring the urban form stipulated in the general regulations, according to the basic idea of "urban planning, urban construction and urban management", a brand-new detailed planning has been carried out for 198 area, aiming at fully realizing the urbanization of the central city and the full coverage of planning management.

According to the Chief Planner of Wang Songtao, there will be no industrial, warehousing, logistics, large-scale professional municipal and university projects in the 45 square kilometers of construction land, and the construction land will be constructed according to the layout requirements of "ecological priority, centralized construction and improved standards", forming a harmonious spatial form of construction land and ecological land. However, no project will be built in the ecological green space of 145 square kilometers.
