The entrance is the living room and dining room.

In my opinion, living rooms and restaurants can be roughly divided into three types: guests and restaurants are on both sides of the entrance door (as shown in figure 1), guests and restaurants are on the same side of the entrance door (as shown in figure 2) and there is an area between guests and restaurants opposite the entrance door (as shown in figure 3).

1. Common partition types in porch design

The design of the porch is inseparable from the use of partitions. The following three types of partitions are usually used in porch design:

(1) "wall" partition

In my opinion, "wall-type" partition can be roughly divided into two situations: post-construction and original wall (the wall can be demolished and changed). Not all of them are as dull as the impression, but there are delicious noodles, or they can reach the top of the "solid" and "wall-style" partition, creating a strong sense of porch area, but it is also easy to produce a sense of crowding in a small area, and is often used as it.

Or the combination of wall and partition with good permeability plays the role of "solid" wall, and can also alleviate the sense of space constraint. The size of the two can be "one big and one small" (the size of the transparent partition is "big", the size of the wall is "small", or the size ratio is opposite), or it can be "even" and "half", combined with functional requirements and

Or "wall-style" partition with modeling, because "modeling" is usually closely related to the decoration style, this partition is easy to blend into the family space, and the decoration it adds to the wall will dilute the essence of the wall, weaken the deliberate nature of the entrance area and reduce the sense of separation in the family space.

Choose the style of "wall-style" partition according to the area, functional requirements, space effect to be created, space adjacent to the entrance area and personal preference.

When the "wall-shaped" partition is adopted, it is completed by dismantling the original wall, and the wall cannot be dismantled at will. Before demolition, you need to report to the property consultation, and the property is also allowed.

(2) "Function" partition

Using shoe cabinets, shelves and other functional partitions to build a porch is a common way in family space. It not only has unique practicability and can better meet the functional requirements of the porch area, but also has its own "furniture" and "physique", which makes it exist independently in the form of "indomitable spirit" or "half height"

The style of "functional" partition is selected according to the functional requirements, the location and size of the partition, the area of the entrance area, the space adjacent to the entrance area, the space effect to be created and personal preferences.

The thickness of the cabinet will take into account the larger area occupied by the porch area or its adjacent area, so as to avoid the situation that the porch area or its adjacent area is smaller due to the arrangement of the cabinet, resulting in a cramped space effect.

High-value decorative partitions have the function of "finishing touch" and "enriching" space effect to a certain extent, and different materials and shapes "inject" different "styles" into family space. For example, the luxury and avant-garde brought by metal partitions; Wooden partition brings tenderness and comfort; Glass partition brings fashion and simplicity; Stone partition brings strength and femininity, and "lattice" partition brings peace and vitality of the years; The "strip" partition brings an orderly and rigorous combination of family decoration style and personal preferences, and it would be better if it can echo the materials or shapes that have been used in the space.

"Decorative" partitions are usually small in thickness (except specially designed shapes), occupying a small area in the porch area or its adjacent areas, and will not cause great dimensional pressure on the space; Moreover, partitions with good permeability (such as "lattice partition", "strip partition" and glass partition) will form the space effect of "continuous partition", so that the entrance area and "indoor space" can maintain good integration even if they are "separated", so they are also suitable for smaller entrance areas or their adjacent areas.

2. The design of the porch

Using the porch, I think the door is the living room and dining room. The design of the porch has the following ways:

(1) The entrance door is partitioned to create the "most intuitive" entrance.

The partition is set opposite to the entrance door, whether it is "vertical" to the wall at one side of the entrance door, and a "concrete" area is defined; Or stand alone, "away" from the "image" area delineated by the wall, and create the "most intuitive" porch experience, which can not only "create" a better "depth" effect for the family space, but also effectively avoid the "unobstructed view" at home and better protect the home. However, this porch design method uses "vertical" space, so the area opposite the porch is required to be "larger", otherwise not only the porch area will feel cramped, but also the use function of the area will be affected (for example, the sofa in the living room area can only be "tilted"), so it is considered.

The distance between the partition and the entrance door can refer to the appropriate value of 1200~ 1500mm, which will not make you feel cramped and waste the space in the entrance area. Choose the type and style of partition according to the functional requirements of the home, the space area adjacent to the entrance area, the space effect to be created, and personal preferences.

Matters needing attention ⅲ:

When the entrance door is facing the window, "solid" cabinets, walls, decorative partitions, etc. Facing the entrance door, there will be a large area of "shadow" in the entrance area, and "opening holes" in the partition or combining with the partition with good permeability can effectively alleviate this situation.

Suitable for room type:

I think this porch design is suitable for both sides of the entrance door of guests and restaurants. Guests and restaurants are on the same side of the entrance door, and there is an area between guests and restaurants opposite to the entrance door.

⑵ Set a partition on one side of the entrance door to create a "most versatile" porch.

A partition perpendicular to the direction of the entrance door is set on one side of the entrance door, which makes use of a "horizontal" space and transfers the space "pressure" to the area on the side of the entrance door, which has little impact on the overall space of the family. Moreover, when using the "functional" partition, it is more convenient to use it on the side of the entrance door, but its thickness may affect the size or quantity of furniture in the area on the side of the entrance door (for example, when the area on the side of the entrance door is the living room, it is thicker). In my opinion, there are two types of porch areas created by this design method:

"channel" entrance

The original wall on one side of the entrance door is set to be "parallel and opposite" to the wall on the other side of the entrance door. At this time, the entrance area will form a "corridor" porch, and the position of the partition should be determined according to the value that the width of the corridor is not less than 1000~ 1200mm. When the passage is narrow, using a partition with good permeability or low height can effectively alleviate the cramped situation of the porch; Choose the type and style of partition according to the requirements of family function, the width of porch that can be set, the area of one side of partition, the space effect to be created, personal preference and so on.
