Nathan Road 1

Milton Road is one of the most famous streets in Hong Kong, located in Kowloon, connecting Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui. It is the main road in Kowloon. There are many commercial and residential buildings on both sides from the seaside in Tsim Sha Tsui to the street in the north of Kowloon Peninsula. Jordan-Tsim Sha Tsui section has gradually become a shopping area. At night, tourists are at home, and all kinds of neon signs are dazzling.

2. Hollywood Road

Hollywood road, sometimes called hollywood road, is a must-see for tourists. It is located in the center of Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. This is the first street built after the opening of Hong Kong. The name "Hollywood Road" has nothing to do with Hollywood in the American film industry, but originated from Hollywood around early Hollywood.

3. Gas Lamp Street

Gas Street, also known as "da li Street", has always been the scene of many Hong Kong TV dramas and movies, and most of them regard it as the epitome of Hong Kong. Gas Street itself is a small street, only one end can be opened to traffic, and there is a granite staircase between this street and Xuechang Street. There are four gas lamps on both sides of the stairs, which are the only four lamps in Hong Kong at present.

Before the 1950s, gaslights were not uncommon in Hong Kong. They are the main lighting street lamps in Hong Kong. But by the 1970s, gas lamps had been replaced by electric lamps. Now there are only four left, which is very precious. This part of the gas lamp was listed as a legal monument in Hong Kong on August 1979. Now this part of the gas lamp is always on from 6 pm to 6 am every day for street lighting.

Contemporary significance of streets in Hong Kong

Boundary Street is still the dividing line between Kowloon and New Kowloon, and the property in the area north of Boundary Street has to pay government rent. In addition, Boundary Street is also the dividing line between Yau Tsim Mong District, Sham Shui Po District and Kowloon City. Boundary Street belongs to Sham Shui Po District to the north and Yau Tsim Mong District to the south.

In the middle of Boundary Street is Kowloon Tsai Mansion Area, with middle-class residents, and it is also home to many famous schools such as maryknoll convent school and Lassa College. Sham Shui Po and Tai Kok Tsui are in the west, and the residents are mainly middle and lower classes and new immigrants.
