Who appointed the community director?

The director of a community neighborhood committee cannot be appointed, but is generally elected by all the residents or representatives of each household who have the right to vote in this residential area.

Members of residents' committees shall abide by the Constitution, laws, regulations and national policies, be fair and honest, be enthusiastic about serving residents, and accept the supervision of residents.

The main responsibilities of the director of the community neighborhood Committee

1. Be fully responsible for the work of the neighborhood committees of this community and supervise the work of other members, help solve problems encountered in the work, and coordinate the daily affairs of the working committees.

2. Lead all members of community neighborhood committees, support the leadership of the Party, implement the Party's line, principles and policies and national laws and decrees, and be responsible for the implementation of the principles and policies of the Party and the state in community neighborhood committees.

3, under the guidance of the neighborhood offices and the leadership of the community party branch, unite, organize and lead the community neighborhood committees to earnestly perform their duties, keep close contact with all units under their jurisdiction, be responsible for the community members' congress, and consciously accept the supervision of the community construction committee and community members.

Article 111 of the Constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC), residents' committees or villagers' committees established in cities and rural areas according to the areas where residents live are grass-roots mass autonomous organizations. The directors, vice-directors and members of residents' committees and villagers' committees are elected by residents. The relationship between residents' committees and villagers' committees and grass-roots political power shall be stipulated by law. Residents' committees and villagers' committees shall set up people's mediation committees, public security committees and public health committees to handle public affairs and public welfare undertakings in their residential areas, mediate civil disputes, help maintain social order, and reflect the opinions, demands and suggestions of the masses to the people's government.
