There are several big ports in Shenzhen.

As of June 20 19, there were 10 port areas in Shenzhen, including Shekou, Chiwan, Mawan, Yantian, Dachan Bay, Shayuyong, Xia Dong, Dongjiaotou, Fuyong and inland rivers.

1, Shekou Port Area, located between Wuwan of Nantou Peninsula in the north of Shenzhen Bay and Zuopaotai Mountain, was developed and constructed by China Merchants Shekou Industrial Zone, which is the earliest port area in Shenzhen.

2. Yantian Port Area is located on the north bank of Dapeng Bay in the east of Shenzhen, starting from Shatoujiao Bonded Zone in the west and reaching Zhengjiaozui in the east. The functions of the port area include cargo handling and transportation, the construction and operation of port supporting transportation facilities, the construction and operation of port supporting warehousing and industrial facilities, and the construction and operation of port supporting living service facilities.

3. Chiwan Port Area, located between the left and right batteries of Chiwan at the end of Nantou Peninsula, has gradually formed a pattern of surrounding harbor pools relying on natural harbor.

4. Mawan Port Area is located on the west side of Nantou Peninsula, with Chiwan Port Area in the south and Dachan Bay in the north.

5. Inland port areas, including Shenzhen Heshangbu Wharf, Xinzhou River Wharf and Xixiang, Songgang and Shajing Wharfs in Baoan District, are used for loading and unloading building materials such as sand, bricks and cement in Shenzhen.
