general situation

The curling-shaped exhibition hall is like an island standing in the water, and the outer wall is a scaly decorative material, which seems to be composed of many ice cubes. The natural features from Finland, such as islands and reefs, fish scales, blue reflections and the smell of wood, have been reinterpreted and taken on a new look. The six elements of a better life-freedom, creativity, innovation, community spirit, health and nature-are perfectly integrated in architecture, space and functional design.

The appearance of the pavilion "Curling" is inspired by Finland's nature. It is reported that Finland was still buried under the ice during the Ice Age. Due to the melting and flowing of glaciers, a cave was formed in the rocks of Finland's crust, leaving smooth pebbles in the depths of this natural cave, which was later called the "European Cave", which is the design inspiration of the current Finnish Pavilion "Curling". The white outer wall of curling is made of new paper-plastic composite materials. This innovative building material from Finland will be applied and displayed on a large scale in Finland Pavilion of Shanghai World Expo for the first time.
