What are the precautions for the renovation of old houses?
◆ First, make clear which walls can be demolished.
1. Houses with brick-concrete structure are all prefabricated walls, and doors and windows cannot be removed or opened;
2. In a house with a frame structure, except that the outer wall is a load-bearing wall, the inner wall is basically a detachable non-load-bearing wall.
◆ Next, pay attention to when the ground will be demolished.
1. When removing floor tiles, the original cement mortar layer shall be removed together;
2. When the solid wood floor is removed, if you don't want to throw it away, you can also grind off the original floor paint and brush it again.
◆ Key reminder! Be extra careful when disassembling the bathroom.
1. Pay attention to clear in time when removing bricks to avoid the blockage caused by tiles falling into the drain pipe;
2. For second-hand houses, on the basis of not destroying the old waterproof layer, it is suggested to build another waterproof layer to improve the waterproof ability of the bathroom.

How to avoid potential safety hazards in demolition of old houses? Designer Wang Luping gave a professional answer.
The following content comes from Good Life APP Certified Designer @ Meiyu Design-Wang Luping
Compared with the renovation of new houses, the renovation of old houses is more complicated, with many construction projects and many hidden dangers. If we follow the process of new house decoration, there will definitely be many construction quality problems and security risks in the later period. Here, we summarize some matters that should be paid attention to in the renovation of old houses relative to the renovation of new houses. If the whole decoration process can follow the following points, then the quality of the whole project can be basically guaranteed and potential safety hazards can be avoided.
First, tear down the old and the wall.
Demolition of old houses generally involves wall tiles, floors, furniture, sanitary ware, lamps, windows, ceilings and so on. Old houses with brick-concrete structure generally need reinforcement if they involve tearing down walls.
1. Wall and floor tile
When the wall and floor tiles are removed, the original cement mortar layer should be removed together, otherwise the following problems may occur: a. The adhesion between the new one and the cement mortar layer is not enough; B. The stacking of new and old cement mortar affects the space utilization rate; C. If the cement mortar layer in the bathroom is not removed, the floor of the bathroom may be higher than or equal to the height of the outside floor, resulting in water seepage.
In addition, attention should be paid to: a. Find out the photos of hydropower construction during decoration to avoid breaking the previous hydropower pipeline. Turn off the water inlet valve of the house before tearing down the old house, so as not to accidentally break the water pipe and seep out. B protect the drain of toilet and floor drain to prevent the old garbage from blocking the drain.
Step 2: Floor
At present, there are three kinds of flooring commonly used in interior decoration: solid wood flooring, composite flooring and laminate flooring. Generally, it is useless to remove the composite and reinforced floors, and treat them directly as garbage. You don't want the solid wood floor. If someone recycles it, you can reuse it yourself. Wear off the original floor paint and repaint it, and you can paint it in your favorite color.
3. Furniture, sanitary ware, lamps and windows
Fixed furniture made on site is basically treated as garbage when it is removed. Some movable furniture with good appearance can be recycled, while general sanitary wares and chandeliers are not commonly used. Good sanitary ware and lamps are another matter. Old windows are generally removed and recycled by shops that make windows.
Tear down the wall
Now the new houses are basically frame structures. As long as the load-bearing wall does not move, other walls can be removed. For a new house, tearing down the wall is relatively simple. For an old house with brick-concrete structure, if the wall needs to be demolished, the problems involved will be more complicated. Generally, it is necessary to ask a professional reinforcement company to inspect it on the spot, and if necessary, it is necessary to make a reinforcement plan for structural reinforcement.
5. Garbage disposal
Regarding the garbage disposal of demolishing old houses and knocking on the wall, the old community has no designated decoration garbage dump in the new community, and the property will treat the decoration garbage in a unified way. Generally, the decoration garbage of old houses needs to be disposed of in time, and the property will not allow you to pile up on the roadside for a long time. After all, it will affect the travel of the neighborhood and the environment of the community.
Second, the decoration work
The renovation work generally involves waterways, circuits, bricklayers, carpenters and oilmen. We will focus on waterways, circuits and bricklayers.
1. Channel
The water inlet pipes of old houses are generally divided into galvanized pipes, composite pipes and PPR pipes according to the year of construction. Older houses are generally plastic pipes or composite pipes, and younger houses are generally PPR pipes. At present, the renovated water pipes are basically PPR pipes. If the water inlet pipe of the house is also a PPR pipe, it can be connected as usual. If the water inlet pipe of the house is galvanized pipe, the galvanized pipe and PPR pipe need to be connected with specific accessories. If the water inlet pipe of the house is a composite pipe, it can't be connected with the PPR pipe. It is necessary to remove the composite pipe originally connected to the water meter and reconnect it with the PPR pipe.
In addition, in some old communities, the water meters and valves of every household are installed on the first floor, so it is not convenient to open and close the valves. It is suggested to install a separate valve at the water inlet of the house to facilitate opening and closing.
2. Circuit (strong current and weak current)
When the older house was first built, there were not so many household appliances, and the power of strong electricity did not need to be so large, so its household line was generally 4-6 square meters. At present, there are many high-power appliances at home. If some high-power appliances are turned on at the same time, the electricity consumption of 4-6 square lines can no longer be guaranteed. Therefore, when making water and electricity in old houses, it is suggested to use 10 square line instead of 6 square lines to ensure electricity consumption (small houses and new houses use 10 square line). Another is that the distribution boxes in old houses are generally small and the number of circuits is not enough. When newly renovated, it is suggested to replace the larger distribution box and increase the number of empty roads.
In addition, many old houses have no weak boxes. Telephone line, TV line and network line are laid separately, which makes the lines messy and interferes with strong electricity. When newly renovated, it is necessary to arrange the weak current lines into the weak current box, and try to set the weak current box near the entrance door. It will be more convenient to connect optical fiber from the outside in the future.
3. Masonry (wall and ground repair leveling and waterproof and moistureproof)
Compared with the new house, the old house needs to remove the walls, tiles, doors and windows, and the walls and floors will inevitably be damaged after being removed, so a cement mortar repair, painting and leveling project is added. If the paint layer and latex paint layer on the inner wall of some old houses are seriously damaged, it is necessary to shovel off all the paint layer and latex paint to expose the red brick wall and repaint it with cement mortar.
In addition, the waterproof and moisture-proof practice of the new house bathroom is generally to brush the waterproof paint on the wall of shower room or bathtub area to the height of 1.8m-2.4m, and brush the wall of other areas to the height of 0.3m to achieve moisture-proof effect. For old houses, it is suggested that all four walls should be painted to a height of 2.4m to ensure moisture-proof effect. The ground is painted and leveled with a waterproof agent mixed with cement mortar, and it is also used to retain water for 24 hours after painting and leveling when necessary.
4. Woodworking (integrated ceiling in kitchen and bathroom)
The carpenter's main suggestion is that the ceiling of kitchen and bathroom should be detachable integrated ceiling. Many sewer pipes in old houses are galvanized pipes, which are seriously aging over the years and have hidden dangers of water leakage. If you use moisture-proof gypsum board or other closed ceiling, it will be more troublesome in case of water leakage.
5. Oil workers (the wall is based on non-woven fabric or grid cloth)
The wall paint of the old house is aging and seriously loose. If you make latex paint directly, the wall is easy to crack. It is suggested that grid cloth or non-woven fabric should be used as the base when making wall putty, which can enhance the adhesion between the original wall and the new latex paint and effectively prevent the wall from cracking.
Finally, I suggest that the old community is a mature community, the houses are basically occupied, and many old communities are mostly elderly people. It is also important to coordinate neighborhood relations when decorating.
