The civil law stipulates the speed limit of the community.

The Civil Code does not specify the speed limit. The property company will stipulate that the speed limit in the community is generally 5 kilometers, and the main roads in larger communities sometimes have a speed limit of 20 kilometers.

The roads in residential areas are not within the scope of traffic law adjustment, so the traffic law does not clearly stipulate the speed limit in residential areas. The roads in the residential area are shared by all owners, and the speed should be stipulated by the selected property company. If the owners have doubts about the speed limit, they can directly report it to the property management company or through the owners' committee. The speed limit standard is not only based on the number of lanes, but also on the road grade, traffic flow, road width, isolation belt and other conditions. The pace of human life is getting faster and faster, and the purpose of all kinds of high speed is to reach the destination faster. The speed limit at high speed is the maximum speed allowed under the condition of ensuring safety. The determination of this value is based on science.

Motor vehicles driving in the same lane should keep a sufficient safe distance from the preceding vehicle and take emergency braking measures. In any of the following circumstances, overtaking is not allowed:

1. The vehicle in front is turning left, turning around or overtaking;

2. It is possible to meet the opposite car;

3. The preceding vehicle is a police car, fire truck, ambulance or engineering rescue vehicle that performs emergency tasks;

4. Passing railway crossings, intersections, narrow bridges, bends, steep slopes, tunnels, crosswalks, urban traffic sections and other sections that do not have overtaking conditions.

To sum up, residential roads do not belong to municipal roads and urban roads, and vehicle traffic management in residential areas is generally the responsibility of residential properties. Once a vehicle accident occurs, it is mainly handled by the property. Generally, foreign vehicles are allowed to pass through the community, which can be regarded as roads, and accidents are regarded as traffic accidents. However, there are also a few high-end residential areas where foreign vehicles are not allowed to enter, which are relatively closed, and accidents are usually counted as off-road accidents.

Motor vehicles driving on the road shall not exceed the maximum speed indicated by the speed limit sign. Keep a safe speed on the road without speed limit signs.
