What is the use of tert-butyl lithium?

1. Used as debromination agent for organic synthesis;

2. As an important lithium reagent, it can be used to prepare other organic compounds through halogen-metal exchange reaction;

3. Tert-butyllithium has strong basicity and metallization activity and weak nucleophilicity, so it can be used for the deprotonation lithium reaction of hydrocarbon substrates with weak protonic acidity;

4. Used for preparing polycyclic compounds.

Tert-butyllithium is usually stored, sold and used as pentane solution.
