Taiyuan nickname: Bing, the capital of Shanxi Province, an excellent tourist city in China, a national historical and cultural city, a national garden city, and a political, economic, cultural, transportation and international exchange center in Shanxi Province.

Taiyuan City is located in the Taiyuan Basin in the north-central part of Shanxi Province, bordering Xinzhou City in the north, Yangquan in the east, Lvliang in the west and Jinzhong in the south, with a total area of 6,988 square kilometers. Domestic attractions include: Twin Towers Temple, Lingxiao Twin Towers, Longshan Grottoes, Mengshan Giant Buddha, Confucius Temple and Jinyang Ancient City Site.

Taiyuan is surrounded by mountains in the west, north and east, and valley plains in the middle and south. The whole terrain is dustpan-shaped. The highest point is 2670 meters above sea level, the lowest point is 760 meters above sea level, and the average altitude is about 800 meters. The urban area is located on the plain of Fenhe River Valley at an altitude of 800 meters.

On the left is Taihang Mountain, on the right is Luliang Mountain, behind is Yundiezhou, in front is Taiyuan Plain, and Fenshui runs through the whole territory from north to south. Fenhe River, the second largest tributary of the Yellow River, runs through the whole territory of Taiyuan from north to south and flows through the territory for about 100 km. The urban area is blocked by Taihang Mountain in the east and Luliang Mountain in the west.
