So Singapore still needs Chinese teachers. All the Chinese teachers in Spring International College are from China, but not all of them are majoring in Chinese as a foreign language. Some English majors or minor language majors teach Chinese after graduation, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

In order to better understand the teaching level of schools in Singapore, I have English classes with local students and listen to teachers' teaching language. This foreign teacher is from India, but her English pronunciation is clear and humorous, so students are willing to answer questions and the classroom atmosphere is very harmonious. Compared with foreign English teaching, the classroom teaching atmosphere in China is mostly tense. Teachers and students pay more attention to test scores, so teachers pay more attention to explaining English grammar points than oral communication, while students pay attention to taking notes, which leads to the slow progress of domestic students' oral English. At the same time, the teacher's classroom language is clear, and all kinds of classroom instructions are clear, which is easy for students to understand. When they don't understand, they will add some body language so that students whose mother tongue is not English can understand, which will also have some inspiration for us to teach foreign students.

Chinese teaching practice

After a week's observation, I began a one-week internship, mainly responsible for one-on-one teaching in the afternoon and small class teaching in the evening.

In one-on-one teaching, I mainly tutor three students. The first one is an American student, aged about 15, with a primary school level and a lively and cheerful personality. However, when he is happy, he easily forgets how to express himself in Chinese, so he relies heavily on his native English. So I consciously guide her to use Chinese as much as possible, whether in class or in the process of chatting after class.

The second is a student from Indonesia, about 20 years old, with an upper-middle level, and no problem in basic communication. He mainly hopes to pass hsk Band 4. This is my first contact with hsk teaching. The composition of hsk test paper mainly includes listening, reading and writing. So we should start with vocabulary teaching, and then teach grammar points and exam-taking skills. In the meantime, let the students do some exercises to consolidate and finally explain the answers.

The third student is also from Indonesia. She is about 40 years old and a housewife. Because she only learned Pinyin, I can only communicate with her in English in class. But her English has a strong Indonesian accent, so I don't understand it very well, so try not to teach too complicated content, let her master the basics, and then explain other contents further after she has mastered some basic Chinese conversations.

In small class teaching, I am mainly responsible for the teaching of Southeast Asian classes. The students in this class are non-Chinese students from the Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. The biggest problem in this class is the big age difference. In this class, the youngest is 15 years old and the oldest is over 50 years old, so many factors should be considered when asking questions, such as: what questions can be asked and what questions can't be asked, and when explaining grammar, we should also consider not speaking too fast, so that older students can't accept it quickly, and younger students can't be too slow and boring, so we should try our best to grasp this degree.

Practice summary

After two weeks of observation and practice, I deeply feel that it is really not easy to teach Chinese abroad. First of all, you should be fluent in foreign languages, so as to ensure that you can understand the needs of students and give them confidence that you can teach them well. Secondly, a solid Chinese foundation is the most basic requirement for a Chinese teacher. Third, we should have rich personality charm. Personality charm is mainly reflected in whether teachers are humorous and enthusiastic and easy to get along with students. Finally, it is best to have some foreign experience. Because experienced teachers who go abroad are often more popular. Some foreign students are often unfamiliar with a new language at first, but if the teacher has traveled or worked in their country and can talk about some people or things about their country, the students will feel very cordial and trust the teacher more. Secondly, if the teacher has rich experience in going abroad, then in the future teaching, as long as the content of other countries' culture is mentioned, the teacher can also say more relevant and interesting content. So if there is an opportunity in the future, I also want to increase some life experiences, visit more countries and broaden my horizons.

Looking back on this internship trip in Singapore, I gained some practical opportunities, and at the same time I was able to better understand the situation of Chinese teaching abroad. Through observation, I know that the machine is controlled by plc. It has a comprehensive system based on automatic control technology, pneumatic control technology and hydraulic transmission technology. The system is mainly composed of control mechanism, actuator and fluid metering device. This machine can add water without leaking. I learned a lot about the working principle and language of plc here this week, which deepened my understanding of plc.

Practice the fourth week

In the debugging workshop, perhaps because the operation is unfamiliar, the master won't let me do too much, and I watch it most of the time. But after a few days, I obviously felt that my spare time was running out and I finished a lot of operations. Anyway, in the process of operation, the knowledge in the book is more or less related to practice, and it is more or less summarized in the process of practice. In the process of working with the master, I found many problems and solved them one by one. It has been five weeks since I came to this company unconsciously. The biggest problem during this period is that I am a very introverted person, and I am not very good at communicating with others, but in the company, I understand that all kinds of work need everyone's unity and assistance to complete. At first, I didn't adapt to this integrated and systematic working environment, and I was afraid to ask others questions, which was very inefficient. The master observed my inadaptability and said to me, "I must adapt to this change, because communication is an effective way to solve difficulties and create opportunities." This internship, I not only have a systematic understanding of plc, but also learned valuable lessons from countless failures. Student Weekly 5 The internship in the second week is coming to an end. According to the annual work plan of Greentown Property Company, the main work this week is to clean and maintain the equipment in the elevator room in the southern business district. Although the cleaning and maintenance of equipment is simple, it pays great attention to the sequence of steps, which can improve the efficiency and quality of work. Because dust has certain conductivity, the accumulation of a large amount of dust in the machine room may lead to equipment failures such as local short circuit, leakage and poor heat dissipation of heating elements in the machine room.

First, we use a blower to blow off a lot of dust on the surface and inside of various equipment in the computer room, such as power distribution cabinets, hoists, speed limiters, operation panels, electromechanical converters and transformers. Then sweep the dust in the corner with a broom. Wait until the dust has completely fallen, and finally vacuum it. At the same time, check whether the fire extinguisher in the computer room can be used normally.

Although this job is simple, it still tests our patience and working attitude for us interns. Before we started work, we still had the idea of being lazy and careless, but later we learned that cleaning and maintaining the equipment plays an important role in ensuring the normal operation of the equipment in the computer room. In the end, we did this internship seriously and revised our working mentality in the future. At work, I realized the importance of equipment maintenance and told us to do it bit by bit at ordinary times, find and solve problems in time during the maintenance process, and reduce the possibility of equipment failure, instead of solving it after equipment failure.
