What unit is the port authority?

The Port Authority of Macau is a bureau-level unit under the Ministry of Transport and Public Works of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

The public departments responsible for exercising maritime powers are extensive and complex, including the affairs management within all ports in Macao, the maritime registration of ships, the management and certification of crew, the implementation of port state supervision, the examination and approval of offshore engineering activities and terminal operations, etc.
