Tongcheng is a county-level city managed by Anqing City, Anhui Province. It is located in the north of Anqing City, bordering Lujiang and Zongyang counties in the east, Qianshan City in the west, Shucheng County in the north and Huaining County and Anqing City in the south.

Tongcheng is a famous historical and cultural city in China. In the Qing dynasty, there was a reputation of "articles from all over the world came out of Tongcheng", and scholars called it "Tongcheng".
