Wuhu, referred to as Jiangcheng and Jiuzi for short, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, a provincial sub-central city [105], a second-type metropolis [1 15], a central city in the Yangtze River Delta [1], an important city in Nanjing metropolitan area and Hefei metropolitan area, and is located in Anhui.

Hefei and Maanshan are connected to the north, Xuancheng and Chizhou to the south, Maanshan and Xuancheng to the east and Tongling to the west.

The Yangtze River divides the city into two parts: Jiangnan and Jiangbei. Qingyi River, Zhanghe River, Shuiyangjiang River and Yuxi River pass through the territory, and Zhusi Lake, Heisha Lake, Longwo Lake and Hukui Lake are dotted.
