Is it legal to collect garbage fees in 2023?

This document standardizes the charges for residents' domestic garbage removal, effectively solves the charging contradiction between related subjects, and further safeguards the legitimate rights and interests of related subjects of property management.

Municipal residents' domestic waste charges are subject to government pricing, and residents' domestic waste clearing fees are operational and service charges, which can be collected by property service providers. The property service fee includes the clearing fee of residents' domestic garbage, and the property service provider shall not charge it repeatedly. If the property service fee does not include the domestic garbage clearing fee, the property service provider shall collect the domestic garbage clearing fee according to the above standards, and publicize the charging standard in a prominent position in the property management area.
