Does the property belong to the life service industry?

Your suggestion on adjusting the classification of property management industry has been received. The reply to the classification of national economic industries related to our bureau is as follows:

The classification of national economic industries is a national standard, and all economic activities are classified according to the principle of homogeneity. According to the current classification, property management belongs to the category of "real estate industry" in the National Economic Industry Classification (GB/T 4754-20 17), which is consistent with the United Nations International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC4.0).

As the basic classification of China's economic and social activities, the national economic industry classification requires high stability, continuity and international comparability, and supports the implementation of relevant policies. At the same time, according to the social and economic development, adjust the ownership of the industry.

The statistical classification of life service industry (20 19) is an industrial statistical classification derived from the classification of national economy industries, which defines life service industry as "service activities to meet the final consumption needs of residents". Accordingly, the property management services for residents belong to the life service industry, but other property management services such as commercial property and industrial property proposed in the proposal should not be included in the life service industry.

The suggestion of separating "property management" from "real estate industry" and listing it as "property management industry" is very important for improving and perfecting the classification of national economy industries. We will further study and demonstrate it in the future revision of national economy industry classification.
