Get 7GWh from a large European OEM.

According to the plan, the export proportion of cellular energy will account for at least 50% and 70% by 2025.
According to the content of this conference call, Honeycomb has received a letter from a large European OEM, and the estimated purchase volume is 7GWh. The specific information will be announced later, and it is also revealed that a first-line parts factory in Europe also has the intention of 6GWh.

The process of selecting power battery suppliers is a multi-battle. After several rounds of competitive screening, car companies will send an exclusive letter of appointment to the winning power battery company, and it will be clear in the letter that the latter will be responsible for the R&D, industrialization and supply of its battery mass-produced parts and corresponding after-sales accessories. However, fixed-point letters are not orders. Obtaining a fixed-point letter does not mean that it has signed an agreement with the car company that is clearly binding on sales. In the future, the purchase order quantity and revenue formation time obtained by battery companies from car companies are still uncertain.
However, at present, electrification in Europe is developing rapidly and battery resources are relatively scarce. It is also reasonable for Honeycomb Energy to focus on the European market. The conference call also revealed that the current intention of Honeycomb Energy in Europe is exclusive supply, and the other is joint supply by two suppliers.
In addition to Europe, Honeycomb Energy visited FCA, GM and Ford in early February this year, and also had contact with their joint ventures in China. In Japan and South Korea, Toyota is expected to enter the stage of sample delivery, but there is no substantial progress in South Korea.
However, the domestic information is not much different from the previously disclosed information: Beiqi New Energy and Weilai have been loaded for testing; Geely, Chery, Daimler and BMW have sent samples for testing. Honeycomb Energy is expected to achieve large-scale sales in China in the third quarter of this year.
Lamination technology+three directions
Yang Hongxin once said that because of its late start, cellular energy is directly aimed at the next generation of materials and processes.
This process is a high-speed lamination technology that Honeycomb Energy has been promoting. According to the disclosed information, its laminating equipment has been planned for four generations, and the first one was purchased from South Korea; The second generation participates in research and development, and has an exclusive agreement, which can achieve a single station speed of 0.45 seconds per lamination; The third generation plans to independently develop each tablet for 0.25 seconds; The fourth generation plan can realize the lamination with the length of 0.5m ~ 1m, but it is different from BYD.
In terms of materials, cellular energy has three major directions:
1, high energy density and high nickel material (suitable for vehicles with high endurance);
2. Cobalt-free material (non-lithium iron phosphate), high energy density, safety test has passed, and cycle life is in progress. It is expected that 202 1 will be listed; At present, the safety, energy density and service life are close to 622, which is 8 1 1 low 10%- 15%.
3. Low-cost lithium ferrous phosphate, but it is not the focus of the company.
Previously, the 4Wh and 8GWh planned for the first and second phases of Changzhou Factory were mainly ternary+cobalt-free, with less lithium ferrous phosphate, but the honeycomb also indicated that the assembly could be * * *.
The energy density that the market is most concerned about is also revealed in this conference call. It is reported that the high-nickel products of Honeycomb Energy will be developed in parallel, and products with energy densities of 240Wh/kg, 250Wh/kg (listed at the same time) and 260Wh/kg will be gradually introduced (it is expected that the products with the highest energy density among square batteries will be developed in the later period). 250Wh/kg and 260Wh/kg are products developed for major customers in Europe, and the 240Wh/kg version will be applied to Great Wall Motor models in the first half of this year.
At the same time, it will also launch an operating car battery with a capacity density of 245Wh/kg and a capacity of 600,000 km for 6 years, which supports 2C fast charging. It is planned to be mass-produced in April and applied to the Great Wall model.
According to the beehive, the energy density of its Pack is currently 65,438+060 Wh/kg, and the products of 65,438+080 Wh/kg are under development. It is predicted that the energy density of the battery pack will exceed 200Wh/kg in the future.
CTP is expected to reach mass production as early as 202 1 year.
Since last year, CTP (modular-free) battery packs have been on fire. Two domestic battery giants, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. and BYD, have successively demonstrated their CTP solutions, and Honeycomb Energy has also made CTP battery packs public.
According to the external publicity data of Honeycomb Energy, compared with the traditional 590 module, the first generation of Honeycomb CTP reduces parts by 24%, the efficiency of the second generation group increases by 5- 10%, the space utilization rate increases by 5%, and the number of parts decreases by 22%.
In this conference call, Honeycomb Energy said that CTP technology will be divided into three generations, the volume energy density will be gradually improved, and the battery will develop in the direction of long battery/large battery, which is expected to reach mass production as early as 202 1 early. Although the existing assembly line is not compatible with long batteries, Honeycomb Energy has mature equipment development experience and patents. Its first generation long battery has low process risk and manufacturing risk, and has been applied to soft bags at present, and honeycomb will be the first to be applied to square batteries.
Although Honeycomb Energy said that there is no specific data on the grouping efficiency of CTP, the energy density of long battery +CTP can be increased by more than 20%, and the greater the power, the more obvious the effect.
In terms of materials used in CTP, Honeycomb revealed that CTP avoids using high expansion materials. The analysis shows that the 523 route is feasible, but 8 1 1 is difficult at present. The negative silicon carbide is not suitable for use because of its large expansion coefficient and large force, and neither is lithium ferrous phosphate.
In 2025, the system price will drop below $80/kWh.
The selection strategy of supply chain has great influence on cost. For scarce resources and core resources such as lithium ore and lithium salt, Honeycomb has its own investment; Cathode construction in Changzhou is considered, and it is estimated that100t/year will be used to locate high-end cathode and primary cobalt-free cathode; Mainstream raw materials (anode, electrolyte, etc.). ) are purchased from outside, mainly domestic leading suppliers, signed strategic cooperation agreements, and obtained R&D and cost support.

As for the cost planning for the next 3-5 years, Honeycomb revealed that the system is planned to be within 100 USD/kWh in 2023, and will be reduced to 80 USD/kWh in 2025, which meets the requirements of the main engine factory.
Cost reduction will rely on scale effect, and realize effective cost reduction in materials, equipment (from 500 million to 200 million), CTP and other technologies.
Earlier, in an exclusive interview with the media, Yang Hongxin said that because only a single large customer and related transactions could not be listed at present, the capacity planning of Honeycomb Energy was for customers in all industries. Honeycomb plans to apply for the science and technology innovation board in the second half of 2022, and the first round of financing is also carried out as planned, and the progress is relatively smooth. The conference call also revealed that at present, Great Wall Holdings 100% hopes to introduce shareholders of vehicle companies in the future.
