In order to meet this need, we organized and compiled this set of specialized English textbooks, and adhered to the following principles in the process of compiling: First, we should closely integrate with the major. Secondly, according to the requirements of different majors for English teaching, the teaching materials have their own emphasis on unit setting, such as hotel service English, commodity management English, secretarial English, etc., while electrical English, electronic English and mechanical English focus on reading. For some professional teaching materials, the translation of reading part is also given to facilitate the teaching and learning of teachers and students.

This set of teaching materials is designed for students in secondary vocational and technical schools, starting from junior high school, and is equipped with the general teaching material English. Considering that grammar has been taught in general English textbooks, this set of textbooks no longer contains grammar items, and the grammar difficulties are explained in the "Notes".

This set of teaching materials is self-contained, and at the same time, each set of teaching materials is compiled with reference to the teaching plan and syllabus of related majors, so it can be used in conjunction with related majors.

In 2003, this textbook introduced seven kinds of English for the first time, including electronic English, accounting English, hotel service English, cooking practical English, secretary English, commodity management English and clothing English. In 2004, it introduced five kinds of English, including property management English, automobile maintenance English, mechanical English, electrical English and computer professional English. This year, English for domestic service, English for beauty salons, English for marketing and English for mechanical and electrical services will be introduced one after another. In 2006, English for architecture, English for logistics, English for printing and English for practical arts will continue to be introduced to meet the needs of students majoring in English.
