Why did SF Airport change its name to Ezhou Airport?

SF Airport was renamed Ezhou Huahu Airport, and SF holds 46% of the shares. The airport is located closer to Ezhou, hence the name.

It can be said that the airport was built by itself, for the sake of greater goals in the future and bringing many practical benefits to Hubei Province.

The initiator of the airport project is of course SF. However, after the site selection of Ezhou, because there is no precedent for a private company to invest solely in the airport in China, this project finally became a public-private partnership with official holding and SF Holdings. Naturally, the naming right no longer belongs to SF, nor will it be named "SF Airport".

In general, after an airport is completed, it can be named after its small place. The smallest can be as small as a village or township, and the largest can only be as large as a district. For example, Shenzhen Baoan Airport has never been directly named after a prefecture-level city. The name "Ezhou Airport" can only be regarded as a transitional title, and it will eventually be renamed.

What is the most reasonable name for the airport? Although the core of the airport is located in Yanji Town, it is a bit awkward to pronounce Yanji Airport, because the word "Yanji Airport" has the same sound and there is no precedent in the airports that have been built, so it is not the best choice.

Huahu Lake is next to Ezhou Airport. From the map, there is an intersection between MCA Lake and Pan-airport area. Therefore, it is logical to name it "Huahu Airport", which will also be of great benefit to the tourism industry in Huahu area in the future.
