What does it mean to return to water?

Backwater refers to the phenomenon that the sewage in the pipeline flows back indoors when the pipeline is blocked or the drainage capacity is poor.

Because in interior decoration, it is necessary to install drainage and sewage pipes. If the pipeline is improperly installed, water may overflow from the floor drain or flow out through the toilet, sewage pipe and drainage pipe, resulting in great indoor pollution and affecting daily life and work.

For example, some owners choose the second floor, because they use public drainage pipes, and there will be interfaces on the second floor. Once there is a problem that drainage cannot be done in time, the second floor is most prone to backwater trouble. Or the toilet drain is blocked. At this time, if it cannot be kept unobstructed, it is easy to have the problem of returning water.

At present, the structural design of commercial housing and new houses is quite mature, and the drainage design of buildings can usually fully meet the standard design of drainage in the Design Standard for Water Supply and Drainage of Buildings (GB500 15), and the probability of backwater due to irregular design is very small.

However, even if the pipeline on the second floor completely meets the design specifications, the second floor, as the lowest floor of the whole building, may still have backwater problems.

How to prevent water from returning to the second floor;

1, try to make an overflow pipe.

For the house without decoration, in order to completely solve the backwater problem on the second floor, it is suggested that the overflow pipe should be done as much as possible to completely solve the problem.

That is to say, in decoration, when laying indoor drainage pipes, a tee can be installed in the sewer pipe, and then an overflow pipe can be extended from the outer wall. Once the water returns to the second floor, the sewage will flow out of the overflow pipe. After the property is discovered, it can be dredged in time to avoid indoor losses.

The installation and construction of the overflow pipe is very simple, generally extending out of the external wall for a short time, and the overflow pipe has little influence on the facade. Property owners and other owners generally do not object. There are many schemes, and it is best to design the one with traps.

2, supplemented by plugging

For the problem of easy water return on the second floor, many owners have installed check valves and floor drains to prevent water return. In fact, installing a check valve on the second floor will naturally cause blocked water to flow back to the third floor, which is contrary to the spirit of civil law. Moreover, the sewage upstairs will leak and soak and pollute the ceiling and walls on the second floor.

But installing a single check valve in the kitchen can really prevent water from flowing back to the second floor. Toilet floor drain can be used to prevent backflow, but at present, it is simple and feasible to prevent backflow in toilet mainly by installing overflow pipes.
