Therefore, the sound insulation effect of the sound barrier can generally be expressed by noise reduction, which embodies the above two sound insulation capabilities of the sound barrier. Sound waves can only be diffracted from above the barrier, and then form a shadow area, just as light is blocked by an object to form a shadow. The noise reduction of the sound barrier is related to the noise frequency, the height of the barrier and the distance between the sound source and the receiving point. The noise reduction effect of sound barrier is closely related to the frequency component of noise. For high-frequency sound above 2000Hz, the noise reduction effect is better than that of intermediate-frequency sound around 800- 1000Hz, but for low-frequency sound around 25Hz, the sound wave is easy to diffract from above the barrier, so the effect is poor. General sound barrier can reduce high-frequency sound l0- 15dB. The height of the sound barrier can be designed according to the distance from the sound source to the receiving point. If the height of the barrier is doubled, the noise reduction can be increased by 6dB. In order to make the noise reduction effect of the sound barrier better, the sound barrier should be as close as possible to the sound source or receiving point.
