Is it illegal to open the meter box without permission?

The meter box belongs to the assets of the power supply company. According to Article 10 1 of the Power Supply Business Rules, it is an act of stealing electricity to open the seal of the electricity consumption metering device sealed by the power supply company without permission.

Stealing electricity is illegal! According to Article 71 of the Electricity Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), whoever steals electricity shall be ordered by the administrative department of electric power to stop the illegal act, recover the electricity fee and impose a fine of less than five times the electricity fee payable; If the case constitutes a crime, criminal responsibility shall be investigated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Criminal Law.
