The Historical Evolution of Wangdetang District

According to Father Lin Jiajun and Mr. Pan Riming, Wang Detang believed that the church was first built in 1568, which is located in today's Crazy Hall Street, opposite to Crazy Hall Hutong, that is, in front of today's Notre Dame. It is the center of religious activities in the early stage of Macao's urban construction and the residential center in the east of the city.

It is also called the Church of Saint Lazarus, Notre Dame de Wang, or Notre Dame for short, because it serves the Virgin Mary. Today, Wangdetang District in Macau is named after Wangdetang and is a regional center.

The real name of Pozai House is actually the "Home for the Poor", which was built more than 100 years ago and belongs to Compassion Hall in Macau. Located at the end of the inclined lane of Wangdetang Crazy Hall in the old district of Macao, next to the social security fund. During the Japanese invasion of China in World War II, a large number of Portuguese overseas Chinese from Shanghai could not come to Macao, and Pozilou became a special place for refugees and the poor, and later became a nursing home for the elderly. All the people living in it are old fathers-in-law, and the neighborhood is called a broken house. In June, 1999, after the old lady moved into a new nursing home, the old lady's house was temporarily vacant. In its heyday, Pozai House had more than 100 residents, but in fact only 52 people lived in Pozai House for a long time before moving. 1June, 984, Pozai Building was rated as a cultural relic protection building by the Cultural Bureau.

The existing area of Pozaiwu Art Space is about1300m2. Including two ancient Portuguese-style two-story buildings facing each other across the courtyard, with a total of 32 rooms, with an area of about 16 square meters, which are now used for exhibitions and different art studios, including: cloth dyeing workshop, children's art game room, pottery studio (blank painting room and manual molding room, etc. ) and hold various art workshops including children and adults on a regular basis. On the other hand, Pozi's study and music room will provide art books, magazines and alternative music CDs from all over the world for people to collect, and the local art reference room will collect and display local art materials to promote local artists.

Crazy Pavilion 10 Creative Park is now a cultural and creative industrial base in Macao, with long-term and short-term permanent exhibits, different activities every month, and the venue will be lent to other groups for performances.

There are two old camphor trees in the big yard of the house. Huge branches connect the two buildings. The lush shade makes the courtyard a good place for tourists to rest. On weekends, there is a popular "coffee tour" (teahouse), and the courtyard is also a place for open-air concerts and film screenings.

There is a small house between the two buildings, which was a morgue 50 years ago. At that time, there were not many hospitals in Macao. The residents of Pozilou held a funeral in this small bungalow. Later, this mortuary became the dining hall for mothers-in-law. Now, it has been transformed into an exhibition venue with an area of 53.4 square meters, which can also be used as a place for holding lectures and film screenings.
