Yesterday (July 3rd), Liang Weidong, Deputy Secretary of Foshan City, read the Reply of Foshan Municipal Government on Agreeing to Adjust Street Administrative Division in Chancheng District, and the original "one town and eight streets" was adjusted and merged into "one town and three streets".

It is reported that this zoning adjustment is mainly to merge the original eight streets into Shiwan Town Street, Zhangcha Street and Zumiao Street. Shi Lan and Chengnan Street were abolished and merged into Shiwan Town Street. The office is located at No.8 Haibin Road, Chancheng District. Revocation of Huanshi, Pu Jun and Shengping streets, merged into Zumiao streets. The office is located at No.23 Chaoan North Road, Chancheng District. Keep Zhangcha Street, and merge the original Shiwan Town Street into Zhangcha Street along the northern section of Ji Hua Road, and the office is located in Chancheng District 1 Jiancha Road. This is the second division adjustment since the establishment of Chancheng District.

According to reports, the original streets in Chancheng District are generally small in scale. The largest Zhangcha Street is only 23 square kilometers, and the smallest South Street is only 4.2 square kilometers. However, "the sparrow is small and complete", and the administrative cost is increasing year by year. The boundaries between streets overlap and social management is often not in place. In this zoning adjustment, eight streets were integrated into three streets with the urban central axis as the boundary. The largest Zumiao street reached 3 1.6 square kilometers, and the smallest Shiwan street reached 2 1. 1 square kilometers.

Urban "enclaves" become history

It is understood that after the adjustment of administrative divisions, the phenomenon of "flower arrangement" and "enclave" in some towns and streets of Chancheng will become history. Lin Bangyan, the mayor of Chancheng District, told the reporter that although Jiancun, like Chancheng, is under the jurisdiction of Zumiao Sub-district Office, there are also some separated areas in the jurisdiction of Zhangcha Sub-district. This phenomenon of "flower arrangement" and "enclave" brings a lot of inconvenience to urban planning and construction and social affairs management.

However, this zoning adjustment has better broken the original regional restrictions, realized the contiguous administrative regions, and is convenient for urban planning, construction and management, especially for the renovation of old properties and "villages in cities" in various towns and streets in Chancheng District.

At the same time, the adjustment of administrative divisions is also helpful to accelerate the optimization and upgrading of regional industries and effectively reduce the administrative costs of the government.
