On-the-spot report of the 64th Army of Volunteers' tenacious resistance to American germ warfare.

On June 5438+065438+1October 15, 2020, I wrote and published "Two Years of Bacteriological Warfare of the US Army in the Korean War", which revealed with a large number of facts that the US military violated international conventions and used bacteriological weapons to slaughter Chinese people's Volunteer Army, the Korean People's Army and the Korean people on the battlefield.

This paper mainly introduces the story that the 64th Army of the Volunteers fought a germ war on the Korean battlefield, trying to protect its own safety as much as possible and thwarting the evil plot of the US military.

After Chinese people's Volunteer Army entered the Korean War, after continuous fighting, it gained prestige, constantly frustrated the resistance and counterattack of the "United Nations Army", and caused the so-called invincible American army to continuously rout and collapse again.

In the face of constant setbacks on the battlefield, the American aggressors are utterly heartless, desperate and openly violating public international law. In two years, they launched a germ war against the armies and people of China and Korea, causing serious harm to Chinese people's Volunteer Army, the Korean People's Army and the Korean people.

At the beginning of 1952, according to the report of the Volunteer Command, American planes used bacterial weapons on a large scale in Jingu, southeast of Yichuan, and near Longshao Cave and Longshui Cave, dropping three kinds of bugs that North Korean residents had never seen before: one like blackfly, one like fleas, and the other like ticks and spiders. To this end, Zhisi asked the combat troops entering the DPRK to pay close attention and organize the health department to carry out testing and quickly put out these pests.

In February, a group of flies, fleas and other insects dropped by enemy planes, as well as milky mucus stuck on paper bags, pieces of paper and pictures were found in the village near the city edge in the defense section of the 64th Army of the Volunteers. Tests by health personnel in the army and divisions show that flies, fleas, spiders and milky mucus all carry cholera virus and other germs.

During this period, the frontline troops of the 64th Army of the Volunteers also found that a large number of animals such as rats, fleas, mosquitoes and flies, as well as bacteria-bearing objects such as cotton, chicken feathers, bark and leaves, were dropped from the air by US military planes or scattered into the 64th Army Defence Zone with heavy artillery.

The frontline troops of the 64th Army reported to the troops in time, and the troops quickly reported to the Volunteers 19 Corps. The superior has instructed that this is a serious situation and deserves our great attention. Later, the Volunteer Command reported that fleas, flies, crickets, spiders, mosquitoes, sandflies, mice and other small animals were found in Tieyuan, Pingkang and Shu Ning in northern Korea.

It was found out by the health department of the Volunteers that these exotic animals all carried more than 0 kinds of germs 10, such as plague, cholera, typhoid fever, dysentery, meningitis, etc., and immediately asked the participating troops to take urgent action, one is prevention, and the other is rapid elimination. At the same time, we must do a good job in the ideological work of cadres and soldiers, and we must not panic, especially the frontline troops fighting at the forefront and guarding positions, which must not affect the combat operations.

Later, all units learned that while the US military engaged in germ warfare in northern Korea, it also dropped germ bombs in Fushun, Xinmin and Dandong in the northeast of China and Qingdao, a coastal city of Shandong Peninsula.

In this regard, the people of China and the State Council's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Zhou Enlai issued a special statement, solemnly pointing out: "The people of China will join the people of the world in resolutely stopping this crazy crime of the US government." The North Korean government also issued a protest statement to the United States on this matter, denouncing the crime of American invaders using bacteriological weapons to harm China and the Korean people.

According to the instructions of the Volunteer Command and the 19 Corps, the divisions of the 64th Army took urgent action, taking the fight against the germ warfare of the US military as the next important task for the armies to safeguard and protect the Korean people, and taking all possible measures to do a good job in epidemic prevention.

According to the unified requirements of the fourth rule, all combatants must be vaccinated without hesitation and unwavering, regardless of whether there are bacterial patients in the unit. At that time, China also stepped up the development and production of a large number of vaccines and disinfection pesticides, and quickly transported them to the front line of the Korean War to meet the needs of the troops.

Since February 1952, epidemic prevention committees and epidemic prevention offices have been set up in all units above the regimental level of the volunteers, and epidemic prevention teams have been set up in grass-roots battalions and companies. Their main task is to guide military cadres and soldiers to carry out anti-bacterial warfare and publicize the use of various technologies of anti-bacterial weapons and epidemic prevention methods.

The 64th Army of the Volunteers set up a special epidemic prevention office. Eight cadres or professional technicians were sent by the Military Affairs Department of the Military Command, the Mass Work Department of the Political Department and the Health Department of the Logistics Department, and four Korean translators were hired to form an epidemic prevention team. The epidemic prevention department is responsible for guiding government personnel and combat troops to vaccinate. Vaccines are produced and supplied in China and distributed by the army.

The other two tasks of the military epidemic prevention department are: to guide the troops and nearby residents to completely kill the epidemic areas in order to eliminate future troubles; Collect samples, photos, etc. Find bacteria carried by enemy planes and shells in time and report relevant information in time.

By the first half of 1952, suspicious objects such as insects with bacteria were found in the 64th Army of the Volunteers 106 batch (94 air drops, 0/2 shells/kloc-0), 4 flies1and 65,438+mosquitoes were dropped. Others, such as leaflets, snakes, cloth, fleas, food, daily necessities, etc. , with all kinds of bacteria and viruses.

The spread and pollution area of bacterial weapons thrown by the enemy is about 13.42 square kilometers. 65438+ 10 to may, among the volunteers and Korean residents guarding this area, there were 195 1 person, and 16 people died.

Objectively speaking, the volunteers were neither mentally prepared nor materially prepared to deal with the germ warfare of the US military. At first, there were some ideological confusion and cognitive deviation in the units affiliated to the 64th Army. Some people are blindly afraid that bacterial weapons can't resist and can only wait for death; Some people don't care, thinking that germ warfare is nothing, and enemies with guns can defeat it. What can small bacteria do? There are people who are lucky enough to think that although the bacterial weapons of American imperialism are powerful, they may not be their turn.

In response to the above vague ideas, the headquarters of the 64 th Army at all levels issued notices, and political organs at all levels also issued instructions and mobilization materials. Pioneer newspaper of the military political department cooperated vigorously, repeatedly mobilized troops and educated them in professional knowledge. The commanders and fighters further recognized the cruel nature of the enemy, deepened their hatred of American imperialism, and changed from fear to fearlessness.

Wan Shangyi, a soldier of the 574th High-altitude Aircraft Company, saw enemy planes throwing germ weapons from a distance on the ground and said angrily, "You release germs, and I will never let you fly back." Immediately fire at the enemy plane, which was shot down and destroyed.

Through mobilization, education and professional guidance, cadres and soldiers have greatly enhanced their confidence in anti-bacterial warfare and further strengthened the means and methods against bacteriological weapons. The whole army 1.000% of officers and men were vaccinated, and all units strengthened health work, effectively ensuring the health and combat capability of the troops.

In order to strengthen joint defense in war zones, epidemic prevention committees and epidemic prevention institutes at all levels of the 64th Army (including battalion and company epidemic prevention teams) have formulated strict epidemic prevention systems, divided areas, defined epidemic prevention tasks to each unit and everyone, and implemented the division of responsibilities. When the spread of enemy planes is found, it is necessary to control the flow of personnel in time and arrange professionals to search the mountains in time. Leaders at all levels should supervise, inspect and implement various epidemic prevention measures.

190 division organized 269 health personnel to carry out professional training in battlefield epidemic prevention, mainly imparting the following knowledge: 1. Management and simple treatment of infectious diseases; 2. Insect control law; 3. Use disinfectants and internal medicine and epidemic prevention drugs; 4. Nutrition knowledge. The division also trained 88 cultural teachers to publicize health construction and spread professional knowledge, and let them go to the frontline troops to guide epidemic prevention work.

On the basis of mobilizing education, the cadres carefully planned and designed, scientifically organized the labor force, and completed the construction of epidemic prevention facilities and disinfection places at the fastest speed according to the needs of epidemic prevention and related requirements. According to the statistics of the units directly under the 64th Army and the divisions, * * * has built 57 epidemic prevention wells, 636 epidemic prevention kitchens, 207 epidemic prevention bathing halls, 62 lice killing rooms, 2,000 epidemic prevention toilets, and 667 waiting rooms and general wards.

Front-line troops holding their positions have taken measures such as narrowing the entrance of the tunnel, making charcoal curtains that can absorb toxicity, blocking the entrance with raincoats and quilts, setting water tanks and firewood at the entrance, sterilizing with lime water and soapy water every day, and making their own gas masks. The development of these epidemic prevention work has played a certain role in the army's fight against the germ warfare of the US military and protecting the health of cadres and soldiers.

Give full play to the wisdom of the masses, carry out mass epidemic prevention activities, and eliminate the media that spread bacteria-rats, flies, mosquitoes, lice, fleas, etc. With a positive fighting attitude. Cadres and soldiers seized all the gaps and made every effort to deploy fly, rat and insect killing operations. From mid-March to the end of April, the divisions and regiments of the 64th Army of the Volunteers captured 59,000 rats and 840 snakes, and wiped out a large number of insects carrying bacteria such as flies and mosquitoes.

Anti-germ warfare is not only the internal work of the volunteers, but also strengthens the close contact with the resident people, and has received strong support from the local people. 190 Division established a joint epidemic prevention system in Changfeng County, and helped the local people to make epidemic prevention plans. An epidemic prevention team composed of cultural teachers and liaison officers went deep into the local people for publicity and education. All divisions and regiments, together with the local people, burned with gasoline and buried the ground and surface of the polluted area with soil to eliminate the future trouble of bacterial warfare. 19 1 The Political Department of the Division also helped the resident to clean the environment, build new epidemic prevention wells and toilets, and uniformly burn the polluted garbage 800 meters away.

All units of the 64 th Army generally injected vaccines for local people, and the proportion of residents injected with five vaccines reached more than 55%. Vaccine injection has spread to 14 villages, and the total number of people injected has reached 18578, accounting for 85% of local residents. With the help of volunteers, the spread of bacteria and epidemics was basically eliminated, the enthusiasm of local people to resume production was enhanced, the health of troops was ensured, and the political influence of Chinese people's Volunteer Army was expanded.
