There are three main bridges in Yan 'an, namely Yanhe Bridge, Baota Bridge and Wang Jiaping Bridge.

I Yanhe Bridge

Yanhe Bridge is the second city symbol of Yan 'an after Baota shan. It seems to be integrated with Baota shan and become a whole landscape, which is not only beautifully shaped, but also has a strong sense of history. It is the first bridge on the Yanhe River. It has a history of nearly 60 years and has become an "antique" of this city.

Although the shape of Yanhe Bridge is complex, it combines the traditional bridge-building techniques in China and is built with natural blue-gray stones, but it shows a simple natural beauty, which complements the loess-like simplicity of Yan 'an people. Although this bridge is only 1 15 meters long, it has always played the role of a bridge in the lives of Yan 'an people.

1from April to June, 1977, a once-in-a-century flood hit Yan' an city. The flood rushed to the lower reaches of Yanhe River, carrying sediment, and most of the houses on the bank of the city were submerged or even pushed away. However, Yanhe Bridge survived this test and still stands on the river, which has been in use ever since. For Yan 'an, which was in a state of extreme need at that time, Yanhe Bridge became a spiritual pillar.

Now Yanhe Bridge is facing a test again, because the bridge deck is too narrow, which affects traffic. During the expansion, people thought about many schemes, and no one could bear to tear down the old Yanhe Bridge, so they decided to build an identical one at the upstream of the bridge, only two meters apart, so that Yanhe Bridge could be continued. The indomitable image will remain on both sides of Yanhe River forever, which is the soul of Yan 'an.

Second, Baota Bridge

The old pagoda bridge is similar to Yanhe bridge in structure, but it was later demolished and replaced by a two-way four-lane ordinary bridge.

Baota Bridge was "lifted" by Yan 'an people with both hands, which embodies the simple side of Yan 'an people and a golden Yan 'an character hatched from loess culture. Horribly, this character is slowly disappearing. Like other cities in China, under the influence of the development of market economy and information technology, the unique urban character is being assimilated.

3. Yan 'an Wang Jiaping Bridge (Rainbow Bridge)

Yan 'an Wang Jiaping Bridge (Rainbow Bridge) is located in front of Wang Jiaping Revolutionary Memorial Hall in Yan 'an. According to the general layout of Wang Jiaping Revolutionary Memorial Hall in Yan 'an and the flood control needs of Yan 'an, it is decided by the provincial government and implemented by the Provincial Communications Department. It is a super-large bridge newly built on the original bridge site. The project started construction on April 22, 1997, and was completed and opened to traffic on September 28, 1998, with a total investment of 36.67 million yuan.

Yan 'an Wang Jiaping Bridge (Rainbow Bridge) is 343.255 meters long, of which the bridge is 204.758 meters long. Does not include the cross line. Length 138.467 m. The bridge is a half-through concrete filled steel tubular arch bridge with a clear distance of 190 meters. The axis of the bridge is 50 degrees oblique to the direction of the river, and the bridge deck is 25.5 meters wide. There are 42 suspenders connected to the deck system in the longitudinal direction of the whole bridge. The lower part adopts gravity abutment to expand the foundation. The design flood frequency is once every 50 years.

Yan 'an Wang Jiaping Bridge (Rainbow Bridge) is a key project in the Ninth Five-Year Plan. The construction of this bridge is difficult, with advanced technology, and the materials and technology are the first time in the history of bridge construction in Yan 'an. Its completion will play a positive role in easing the traffic tension in Yan 'an, improving the city's flood control capacity, beautifying the urban environment and developing tourism.
