At the age of twelve, he was assassinated for family reasons, so he left home angrily and went to Beijing. Yang Jianhou, a descendant of Yang-style Tai Ji Chuan, practiced Yang-style Tai Ji Chuan for more than 20 years, and followed an old monk in Jin Gyeong to practice Tongbi Boxing for 78 years. After Zhang Ce was in his prime, he was awarded Tongbi Boxing by Wang Zhanchun, a descendant of Qijiamen (a native of Xinzhuang, Huang Bei, Liangxiang, South Beijing). When Wang Zhanchun was a teenager in Zhang Ce, he was very affectionate because he was both an apprentice of Jin Gyeong. On weekdays, he was only commensurate with other disciples. Wang and Zhang studied from each other for nine years. After Wang Zhanchun's death, Zhang Ce happened to meet an old man named Han, who was trained by Han Daochang. At this point, Zhang Ce learned from others and achieved the mystery of martial arts. Tong-arm boxing reached its peak and became a martial arts master with two arms and Tai Chi. Because Zhang Ce often wears iron shoes weighing more than 20 Jin each, he is praised as "the saint of arms" and "the iron shoes" by the Wulin.
