Xiangya Medical College of Central South University, formerly Xiangya Medical College, is a medical college with a history of more than 90 years and a fine tradition of running a school. 19 14 was jointly founded by Hunan yuqun society and American yali association, and it is an earlier institution of higher learning in western medicine in China.

Xiangya Medical College of Central South University, a prestigious old school, was founded in 19 14. It is the first Sino-foreign cooperative medical college in China. 1925, Sun Yat-sen wrote an admonition for the fifth graduate student of Xiangya. During the May 4th Movement, Mao Zedong once edited New Hunan Weekly here. In 1950s, Mao Zedong wrote many times to introduce relatives and friends to Xiangya for medical treatment.

The college has always been rigorous in academic research and has trained a large number of influential medical experts at home and abroad, such as Tang, Zhang, Xie Shaowen and Li Zhenpian. The superb level of teaching, scientific research and medical treatment is praised by Chinese people, and it once enjoyed the reputation of "Southern Xiangya and Northern Concord". Among the stamps issued to commemorate the scientists who made outstanding contributions to China in modern times, there are four medical scientists and two Xiangya alumni, namely microbiologist Tang and physician Zhang. The stamp was issued on 1992.

The college covers an area of 425 mu, with total fixed assets of nearly 2 billion yuan. Yuelu Mountain in the south and Xiangjiang River in the east. The newly-built teaching building won the "Luban Award" in 2003.

The college has three undergraduate majors: clinical medicine (five-year program and eight-year program), preventive medicine, pharmacy, stomatology (five-year program and "5+3"), nursing, medical examination and technology, anesthesiology, psychiatry, basic medicine, bioinformatics, forensic medicine, biomedical engineering, biological science, etc. 13, and there are basic medical colleges and public medical colleges. There are four affiliated hospitals directly under Xiangya Hospital, Xiangya Second Hospital, Xiangya Third Hospital and Xiangya Stomatological Hospital.
