The first phase of Rail Transit Line 9 is 32.3 kilometers long, starting from Xinqiao Station in Shapingba District and ending at Xingke Avenue Station in Yubei District. There are 25 stations, connecting 8 rail transit lines such as the rail transit ring line, 1 line and Line 3. The first phase project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2020 (the rest is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 20021year), and the second phase project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 20021year.

Chongqing Rail Transit Line 9 (Metro) runs through the five northern and southern districts of the city, organically connecting Shapingba, Hualong Bridge, Guanyinqiao, Jiangbei Town, Huixing and other built-up areas, and connecting Shapingba City Sub-center, Guanyinqiao City Sub-center, Jiangbei Town Central CBD and other important transportation sources in series. The construction of this line will strengthen the traffic links between several city centers and airports.

At present, 1 Xiaoshizi-Shapingba, Jiaochangkou-Xinshan Village on Line 2 and Ertang-Jiangbei Airport on Line 3 have been put into operation. Line 4 connects Longsheng, Chongqing North Railway Station and Nanping, Line 5 connects Airport New Town, Garden Expo Park, Yangjiaping and Jiangjin Satellite City, Line 6 connects Tea Garden, Jie Fangbei, Dazhulin, Lijia, Cai Jia and Beibei, Line 7 connects Beibei, He Xiyong and Jiulong Industrial Park, Line 8 connects Longxinghe Tea Garden, and Line 9 connects Airport New Town, Jiangbei Central Business District, Guanyin Bridge, Shapingba and so on. 1 1 line connects Marble Stone, Tangjiatuo and Shiping, 12 line connects Lujiao, Lijiatuo, Dadukou and Yi Baishi, 13 line connects University Town and He Xiyong Convention and Exhibition Center, 14 line connects Shuitu, Airport New Town and Northern New District.
