I heard from my classmates that a wall was built around the sand surface and was ready to be demolished. The once behemoth was finally crushed by the last straw.

Shamian, the full name of Shashi Cotton Mill, was a textile printing and dyeing factory in Shashi in a previous life. That is a state-owned enterprise, a provincial enterprise. At that time, the secretary of the municipal party Committee was at the county level and had something to report directly to the province. Shamian is on the same level as Jingzhou Textile Bureau, attending the meeting of the Provincial Textile Department. Only three units in Jingzhou are eligible to go: Shashi Textile Bureau, Shashi Cotton Mill and Jingzhou Cotton Mill.

Shamian is located in beijing east road, Shashi District, bordering the Yangtze River in the south, Jiangling in the east, Jingzhou in the west and Changhu Lake in the north. This used to be a treasure land, and the employees in the factory were proud to work in Shamian. There are three bus stops in Shayin, Shamian and Sanyi (occupying the southeast corner of Shamian), covering an area of several thousand mu. During the peak period, there are 20,000 employees 1.2 million, more than 20,000 joint family members and more than 0,000 buildings 1.0. It's a real monster.

This classmate said that now Shamian is being demolished and more than 8,000 households need to be relocated. Transforming shanty towns is government intervention. It is said that they will not move back, and they will be compensated according to the area. However, in the past, houses were mostly 30 to 60 square meters. How can ordinary workers have so much money to buy new houses to live in? This is a kind of entanglement between the process of social development and backward economic entities. However, I heard that the people's reaction is not great, which may be related to the fact that most houses are purchased in the form of semi-welfare, or to the fact that they are at a loss and indifferent. All kinds of inequalities have numbed the people.

Shamian, a once resounding and confident name, was once said by the first party secretary: "Shamian is a small society, and all other departments are fully equipped except the crematorium."

That's not bragging. Rows of buildings in the living area, high-end cinemas, workers' cultural palaces, workers' hospitals, star-rated hotels, children's schools, property companies, Shamian TV stations, a snack street and a commercial street. In a word, there are shops in society, including banks.

There are two five-storey management buildings in the factory, including Party Committee, factory office, trade union, Youth League Committee, Commission for Discipline Inspection, Organization Department, Propaganda Department, Technology Department, Business Department, Planning Department, Finance Department, Purchasing Department, Armed Forces Department, Women's Federation, militia and other departments. There are Shamian Daily (later changed into weekly and bimonthly), archives, libraries and so on.

The production department has six workshops: spinning, spinning, simple twisting, preparation, weaving and finishing, as well as auxiliary workshops, warehouses and other logistics departments. Except the finishing workshop is divided into two classes, the other five workshops are divided into four classes: A, B, C and D, that is to say, three shifts work eight hours in turn, and the fourth shift has two days off, that is, two days off every six days. Each shift has detailed department heads, such as party, government, industry, league, militia, women's Federation, etc. For example, although sparrows are small and complete, they are subdivided according to administrative levels in society and have a very strict procedure.

After the separation of printing and dyeing plants, there are Jinyu Company and Hongda Company.

Shamian was established in 1965, and the mechanical equipment was installed in 1967 10 165438, and was officially put into production in 1967. 5000 young people from all over the country came to Shamian with simple luggage from all directions, as well as engineers and technicians transferred from Shanghai and Shijiazhuang. They were all apprentices at that time. Class I worker 3 1.2 yuan, class II worker 36.3 yuan per month, class III worker 4 1.5 yuan per month, and class VIII engineer 87 yuan per month. Workers at that time were very popular. They are urban residents with wages and various subsidies.

However, with the development of society, from the original planned economy to the market economy, the wages of workers have always been at the bottom of society. Now Shamian workers (changed to Gansheng Company, the old factory was closed three years ago) only get about 1.800 yuan. Take Uncle Liu whom I interviewed by telephone as an example. From the establishment of the factory to retirement in 2065, I worked for 44 years, 438+00, and now my retirement salary is 24 years. Male employees with 35 years of service are only about 2,400 yuan, while female employees with 32 years of service are only about 2 100 yuan, which can basically solve the problem of food and clothing. People are also comfortable and comfortable, and they have worked all their lives! This figure is also the result of the continuous increase in the salary of 12, which is the living standard of urban people envied and longed for by rural people. From 10-year-old boys to old people with thick hair, they have been well-fed and left a lifetime memory for thousands of old people.

Shamian has left generations of memories, whether it is still living in Shamian or leaving Shashi for a long time, it is difficult to give up. Shamian people are kind and simple, and they are respectable predecessors. They have propped up a blue sky for Shamian with hard sweat. Ordinary workers, with their hard-working hands, turned the beautiful Shashi into a famous textile city. They are the cornerstones of paving the way, they are silkworms, they are burning candles, they have spun thousands of yarns and cloth with their hands and nurtured thousands of students with love. They looked at the rolling reform and the indifferent demolition army with helpless eyes.

Uncle Liu advised me not to use radical words and offensive language when writing about the past, because it is not easy for everyone to live. I should live with a grateful heart. What a kind and simple old man! Uncle Liu, now in his 60 s, can only speak pronunciation and sciatica, and can only walk 100 meters. He had an operation on gallstones. He gave me a lot of help when I first arrived in Shashi 20 years ago. It turns out that Uncle Liu is very brave. Time is to destroy his steel knife, and life is getting old. I have lived in Shamian for 10 years. I can't be hypocritical I'm just a technical school student. I studied in Shamian Branch of Hubei Textile Institute and was assigned to work in Shamian. I am at most a middle school student. Shamian has my most youthful dreams and unforgettable love and hate. I once told myself that I would never talk about leaving that sad place again. Every year I quietly visit my daughter without disturbing any friends and colleagues. After leaving Shamian, I wandered around the world, and I never mentioned Shamian in my article. It is the loneliness and pain that I don't want to touch, and the pride and dignity that I don't want to think of. But my daughter still lives in Shamian and is still in the second grade there. The little house I left her will also be demolished. My daughter doesn't know which shanty town to move to.

My daughter will always be my concern and guilt. I love her father too little. Apart from the meager monthly living expenses, I know that this is far from offsetting my responsibilities and obligations. Daughter said: Come on, Dad! You must write many good articles and a good and influential novel.

So, I thought of writing the novel Shamian. I wanted to write about Shamian's past life, the hard life of ordinary workers, the successful people laid off from their careers, the lonely wanderers on the rivers and lakes, the shady and unspoken rules in state-owned enterprises, the vicissitudes of Shamian in the past 50 years, the dreams of young people and the helplessness of the elderly.

Shamian, an unforgettable place for tens of thousands of people, a place where tens of thousands of people rest in peace, tens of billions of taxes paid, and decades of pain and forbearance, state-owned enterprises will eventually withdraw from the historical stage.

Sand surface is a microcosm of the real society.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to go to Shamian to do a detailed interview in person. I can only describe the rough ten years of my work and life, and then collect some historical materials through telephone interviews and WeChat.
