Brief introduction of new village

Xincun is located in the west of Xietan Town, bordering Wangxi Village in the east, Liucuo Village in Fengyang Township in the south and Dongxi Village in Li Anping Township in the west, with a total area of 3.9 square kilometers. Now it has jurisdiction over 9 natural villages, including Xincun, Xigancuo Village, Xiadongxi Village, Furnace Pit, Pheasant, Xintiangang, Yanjiafu Village, Yanbi and Tomb Pavilion Gang. The main surname in the village is Xiao. Later, Ye, Li, Fan, Zhou, Liu, Liao and other surnames moved in one after another, with a population of more than 700, and the ethnic group living there was Han nationality. The new village was originally named Shantoutang. According to the examination, there is an An 'an Hall (later called Wanfu 'an) built in the third year of Ming Hongwu (1370), so the village is named Shantoutang Village (later renamed Xincun). In the autumn of the first year of Qing Qianlong (1736), Jing Zan, the grandfather of Xiao, came to Shantoutang with his wife and children from Zhouning Mengyuan and started a career. In order to take root here and prevent intrusion, they built the "Marshal Palace" at the entrance of the village, invited Nanquan Martial Arts Division, led all the people to kneel and kowtow in front of Marshal Ye, and vowed: "Learn martial arts, protect the family and protect the people!" Since then, the village has become a place to practice martial arts, which has been passed down from generation to generation, and its martial arts masters have multiplied and become famous. In the early years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, Xiao Buxing, a rural youth, stood out in the martial arts examination and passed the martial arts examination. Later, he was appointed as Wu Zhi and was honored as "Wu Kui". Up to now, the "Wu Kui" plaque issued by the Qing government is still preserved in the ancestral hall in the village. At the end of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, Xiao Yangu, a villager, as a hero in Liangshan, practiced Yan Qing's stunt. Pirates are rampant along the coast, and Yan Gu was invited by the government to catch pirates in Sansha, Xiapu.
