Provisions of Shanghai Municipality on Decoration Time of Residential Quarters

1. According to the Notice of Shanghai Housing and Land Administration on Further Strengthening the Management of Residential Property Decoration, the decoration time of residential quarters is specified as follows:

When the owner or user has moved in, urge the decoration owner, user or construction unit to observe the construction operation time, and shall not engage in construction that produces serious noise from 18:00 to 8:00 the next morning and during holidays.

2. Generally speaking, from 18:00 in the evening to 8:00 the next morning, it is forbidden to carry out noise-making decoration work in the delivered residential building all day (except weekends). Noise measures should also be taken to avoid disturbing the normal life of others when decorating at other times.

3. According to the actual situation, the management statute of the owners of residential quarters can stipulate the renovation period that is stricter than that stipulated in the preceding paragraph. Some residential properties will have their own decoration regulations, but they are generally stricter than Shanghai.
