Does Iraq still exist?

Iraq is located in the southwest of Asia and the northeast of Arabian Peninsula, bordering many countries, with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in the south, Turkey in the north, Syria in the northwest, Iran and Jordan in the east and west.

Iraq still exists, but from 2003 to 2022, Iraq is still at war. Various forces are fighting each other in the surrounding areas, but they have not been rebuilt, and a large number of civilians still live in refugee camps.

Iraq

Iraq has a long history and is the birthplace of the two rivers civilization. The polis appeared in 4700 BC. In 2000 BC, the Amorites established the kingdom of Babylon, one of the four ancient civilizations in the world. Since 550 BC, it has been invaded and ruled by Persian Empire, Arab Empire and Ottoman Empire. 1920 became the British Mesopotamian Trust. On August 0, the Kingdom of Iraq became independent. 1932, Iraq gained complete independence. 1July 1958 14, the Republic of Iraq was founded.

Arabs and Kurds living in Iraq today are not Amorites, and their cultures are completely different. On July 6th, 20 19, at the UNESCO World Heritage Conference, the ruins of the ancient city of Babylon in Iraq were selected into the World Heritage List.

Early civilization

Iraq has a long history. Mesopotamia is one of the cradles of ancient civilizations in the world. The polis appeared in 4700 BC. The northern part of Mesopotamia is called Assyria and the southern part is Babylon, while the northern part of Babylon is called Akkad and the southern part is Sumer.

In 2500 BC, Mesopotamia successively established Akkadian Kingdom, Ur Kingdom, Babylonian Kingdom, Assyrian Empire and New Babylonian Kingdom, which are known as "four ancient civilizations", and famous monarchs such as sargon, Ullner, Hammurabi and Nebuchadnezzar emerged, including Sumerian King List, Gilgamesh Epic, Sumerian Code (Ullner Code), code of hammurabi, Hanging Garden and Ashgabat Library.

In 539 BC, the new kingdom of Babylon was destroyed by the Persian Empire. Assyrians have lived in Iraq for thousands of years. They are truly indigenous peoples. The triangle in the east of Nineveh province is still the concentrated settlement and cultural center of contemporary Assyrians.
