In August 2002, his boss drew several circles on the map and told him that if he walked all the way from Jianyang to Xi 'an and then to Zhengzhou, the next step would be to open the store to Beijing. So he went to Zhengzhou in August and opened a shop in February. By 2004, Yuan Huaqiang had opened two stores in Zhengzhou, both of which surpassed their peers. Soon after, he was sent to Beijing to open a shop. In July this year, Haidilao opened a shop in Dahuisi Road, Beijing. Since then, the focus of Haidilao has shifted to Beijing, and he has also started to stay in Beijing as a regional manager and opened many branches. In 2007, at the age of 27, he got an annual salary of several hundred thousand yuan, bought a 200-square-meter house in Wangjing and took his family to Beijing for reunion.

In 2009, the company was restructured, and he got some shares in the company. The title on his business card became the director of Sichuan Haidilao Catering Co., Ltd., with an annual salary of one million. He began to fly to every city with Haidilao every day.
