In 2004, the Department of Ecological Engineering was established on the basis of the former Ministry of Forestry. There are 25 teachers in the Department of Ecological Engineering, including 2 professors, 6 associate professors, lecturer 1 1 person, master's degree teacher1/person, 7 graduate teachers, and more than 60% of them are "double-qualified" teachers, thus forming a well-structured specialty with professors and associate professors as professional leaders. There are four teaching and research sections: garden teaching and research section, environmental art design teaching and research section, forestry teaching and research section and plant ecology teaching and research section. Among them, the Department of Landscape Architecture was awarded as an excellent teaching team at the provincial level in 2007. The course "Garden Plant Breeding Technology" was rated as a provincial-level excellent course.

There are more than 760 students in the Department of Ecological Engineering. Since 2002, 35 graduates from this department have been promoted to Northeast Forestry University, Northeast Agricultural University, Qiqihar University and Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University for undergraduate studies. Most of the graduates work in landscaping companies and forestry departments in Harbin and inside and outside the province, mainly engaged in landscaping construction, garden planning and design, garden plant production, forestry production technology and management. In 2007, the employment rate of graduates of this department reached over 90%. The artistic works created by students majoring in ecological engineering have won many awards in the competition, among which the work "Ginkgo Home" won the "Best Performance Award" in the production category in the "Fifth Heilongjiang University Student Ice Sculpture Art Design Competition"; The work "Ice Elf" won the best creative award in the second national ice sculpture art design competition for college students; The work "Beijing 2008" won the "Commemorative Award" of the 8th snow sculpture Competition in Sun Island.

There are 19 teachers in the Department of Resources and Environment, including professors 1 person, 4 associate professors and 4 lecturers. There are 4 teachers with master's degrees and 5 teachers studying for master's degrees on the job; There are 3 discipline leaders in the General Administration of Forestry Industry, 4 college professional leaders and 9 "double-qualified" teachers. Four majors, including resources, environment and urban management, environmental monitoring and control technology, environmental monitoring and evaluation, and construction and management of nature reserves, were established, with 484 students and 226 graduates.

In order to create a good internship environment, we have established partnerships with Harbin Institute of Technology Municipal Environmental Engineering College, Daqing Dongcheng District Sewage Treatment Plant, Harbin Waste Power Plant, Harbin Wenchang Sewage Treatment Plant, Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center, Harbin Environmental Monitoring Detachment and other units. There are six training rooms for environmental analysis, environmental engineering, environmental information and atmospheric dust removal. The total value of instruments and equipment is 1.8 million yuan. It provides convenient conditions for students to better contact with practice and improve their vocational skills.

The department of applied technology has four teaching and research sections: decorative arts, architectural technology, electromechanical technology and furniture technology. There are 40 faculty members, including 5 professors (including 1 researcher) and associate professors 1 person (including1senior engineer). Among them, 4 backbone teachers have been awarded the title of discipline leaders at the prefecture-level and 5 professional leaders of the college. The majors enrolled in 2008 include interior design technology, furniture design and manufacturing, construction engineering technology, engineering supervision, applied electronic technology, communication technology and so on.

The Department of Applied Technology has experimental training rooms for fine arts painting, engineering drawing, interior design, wood materials, decoration materials, decoration construction, painting, building materials, building mechanics, engineering survey, electrical and electronic engineering, etc. In addition, there are more than 20 internship and training employment bases outside the school.

At present, the Department of Biotechnology has laboratories for medicinal plants, identification of traditional Chinese medicines, pharmacy, processing of traditional Chinese medicines, herbarium of traditional Chinese medicines, food nutrition and testing, food technology and food microbiology. The value of instruments and equipment is more than 600,000 yuan, which can meet the teaching needs of various majors. Combined with the teaching of professional and technical courses, more than 90% students can obtain corresponding vocational skills certificates.
