In the contents of page 94 1 of Geely's prospectus, in addition to a lot of financial information, Geely also revealed its core technologies, including efficient powertrain technology, new energy vehicles and key components, a new generation of electronic and electrical architecture platform, and engineering technology development and innovation, many of which were previously undisclosed research and development technologies.

1 and DHE series engines

This time, Geely revealed a brand-new engine series, code-named DHE, and the prospectus used "DHE Series" and "DHE Platform" respectively. The related technologies mentioned in the prospectus include the design of new engine combustion chamber, active noise reduction high-pressure oil pump, EGR gasoline engine water-cooled intercooler and so on.

According to the network information, DHE series engines will be put into production in Yiwu Power Plant, and the code name includes DHE3 series. This means that the DHE3 series engine is a further improvement of the existing GEP3 engine, namely 1.5TD engine, so the DHE platform is likely to have a four-cylinder engine.

In addition, Geely also mentioned "research and development of high-efficiency homogeneous ultra-thin combustion engine", which will achieve more than 45% engine thermal efficiency and will be applied to products under research.

2.48VP4 core technology

Geely also disclosed a hybrid technology under the 48VP4 technology and 48V architecture in the prospectus. "48VP4 is mainly composed of an electric drive assembly (including 48VP4 drive motor and special reducer) and control software." Geely said that the main advantage of this technology is to realize the characteristics of pure electric rear drive and hybrid four-wheel drive with a low cost budget, and at the same time realize the demand of reducing fuel consumption.

It seems that this technology should be used in Geely's low-end models, driving the low-power rear axle motor system with 48V low voltage. However, the project is still under study, in the engineering sample stage, and only 20 people participated in the research and development.

800V High Voltage and High Power System

At present, only Porsche Taycan has mass-produced 800V system, but it is estimated that Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other brands will add this system. At present, the 800V system independently verified and developed by Geely applies the next generation broadband semiconductor silicon carbide SiC to power devices, thus raising the vehicle voltage platform to 800V, realizing the advantages of reducing system loss, reducing vehicle weight and greatly shortening charging time. And Geely has also mastered the technology of 800V high-voltage battery pack, which can realize the automatic switching between 800V discharge and 400V charging, and solve the charging problem of 800V system.

However, Geely classified this technology as "for hybrid vehicles" in the prospectus, and the patent number indicates that it is actually a controller shell structure.

4.P 1+P4 plug-in hybrid power system

At present, the plug-in hybrid power system used by Geely is P2.5 architecture, but now Geely has announced a brand-new plug-in hybrid power structure: P 1+P4 dual-motor power structure, which saves more than 20% energy than traditional cars. Among them, the P 1 motor is highly integrated with the engine to realize the engine start-stop and power generation functions, while the P4 is integrated in the rear axle with modular design to realize the driving assistance and four-wheel drive functions.

It can be seen that this structure can make up for the shortage of four-wheel drive in the previous Geely P2.5 structure, and P 1+P4 is superior to the existing predecessor structure in acceleration performance. 5. Pure electric system

Soon, Geely will launch the second-generation pure electric system technology independently developed. The new system will adopt three-in-one electric drive assembly, three-in-one charging assembly and highly integrated high-density power battery, so as to realize various combinations and meet different product requirements. Among them, the three-in-one electric drive system can output 200kW two-wheel drive and 400kW four-wheel drive at the right time; The charging assembly adopts the third generation silicon carbide device, which has bidirectional charging function and can realize the maximum AC charging power of 22kW. It is reported that these technologies will be used in PMA platform to replace the current Japanese electric drive motor.

Geely mentioned in the prospectus that the new pure electric platform can cover the cruising range of 300 km to 707 km, and the acceleration of 100 km can reach 3.9s at the earliest.

In the field of power batteries, Geely has mastered the battery pack, battery management system, battery thermal management and other related technologies. Through the integrated design of power battery pack structure, module, liquid cooling and energy management system, it has realized the characteristics of light weight, high density, high safety and the most cost-effective. Geely said that this power battery system will be applied to related models of PMA platform.
