Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County belongs to Chengde City, Hebei Province. With a total area of 92 19.72 square kilometers, the county is the largest in the province. * * * governs 37 townships and 3 12 policy villages, with a total population of 5160,000, of which the population of 12 ethnic minorities, mainly Manchu and Mongolian, is 290,000, accounting for 56.2% of the total population. 1On June 29th, 989, with the approval of the State Council, Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County was established. It is the most populous county in Chengde City, the largest county in Hebei Province and the only Manchu and Mongolian autonomous county in China.
