Shandong institute of business and technology, formerly known as China Institute of Coal Economics, is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education. Founded in 1985, it belongs to the former Ministry of Coal Industry. 1September 1998, due to the reform of the management system, it was transformed into a joint project between the central government and Shandong Province, with Shandong Province as the main management, and it was renamed in February 2003.
