Yu's family ranks 28th in China, accounting for 0.6% of the Han population, while Yu's family is mostly distributed in Shandong Province, accounting for about a quarter of the total surname population. As a major branch of the Yu family, the descendants of the Yu family scattered in Jiaodong, and some even crossed the ocean, becoming the birthplace of Yu in Jiaodong.

Chishan, also known as Chishan, is located in Rongcheng, the easternmost part of Shandong Peninsula, only 6 kilometers away from Shidao, and is a famous ancient village in Jiaodong. In Cheng Qierya Dish written by Yu Qin in Yuan Dynasty: "The beauty of Northeast China is criticized by mountains." Yuqin's condemnation of the mountain is: Gai is named after the seaside, where more than 1000 famous families live. Chyi Yu's family in the East all look at the mountains.

Yu's family was the original builder of this village. Han was surnamed Yu and later moved to Chishan. After Dingguo, it was called "Yu family in the East China Sea" in history. According to the data, from the first generation to the tenth generation, Yu lived in Qinyang, Henan Province, and moved from Qinyang, Henan Province to Tancheng, Shandong Province in 249 BC. Thirty-six generations moved to Chishan, and seventy generations moved to Chishan. Guangxu edition of "Wendeng County Records" contains: Chishan is in the southeast of the city 100 Li. Jin and Yuan are both towns, so we set up a patrol department in the cottage.

After Yu settled in the mountains and built a village, he took his surname as the village name, and Yujiazhuang village was named for nearly a hundred years. There is a mountain to the south of the village. Because the rock is red, the locals call it Chishan. Yu's ancestors wanted to borrow the word "red" to seek national prosperity, so they changed their names to Chishan Village in Jiazhuang. However, the Yu family did not prosper. Yu Xianmin thought that the word "red" meant fire, and that "Yu" and "fish" were homophonic, so it was unlucky for fish to get close to fire, so the homophonic word "hatred" replaced the word "red", and the name of Qiucun has been used to this day.

But the Yu family is still not rich. Mr. Feng Shui was invited by Master Yu Zu. The conclusion after the investigation is that the geographical location of Chishan Village is not conducive to the survival and development of the family, and it is necessary to choose another auspicious place to thrive. As a result, Yu's family began to move to the surrounding areas, and some simply moved far away from the county seat and the province.

At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the Yu family moved out for the first time and moved to Gushan Town, which is now Weihai Economic Zone. Yu's genealogy was also brought to Gushan, becoming the new base camp of Yu's family. Subsequently, there were several large-scale immigrants in the Yuanfeng and late Yuan Dynasties in the Northern Song Dynasty, and most of the Yu family moved out of the mountains. During the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, the Henan people who were then the county magistrate of Wendeng moved to Chishan, where the Wang family began to flourish and gradually grew. Yu became a "little surname" in Chishan, and the last family moved out of Chishan during Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. At this point, Yu ended his living history in Chishan for more than 1000 years, and he was scattered all over Jiaodong. Looking through the local chronicles of Rongcheng, Wendeng, Rushan, Haiyang and Muping, many villages have made it clear that the village moved from Chishan to the village.

After several generations, the Yu family still didn't prosper. In the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty, Yu moved his family to Hongshuilan Village (six kilometers south of this town). After living in Hongshuilan Village for three generations, he moved to Dashuipo Village.

It's kind of amazing. In the years after moving to Dashuipo, the population has prospered, and wealth has prospered, and several big officials have been produced, making it a well-known family. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the Yu family began to build a temple in Dashuipo, and invited the Yu family genealogy in Gushan as a temple. The genealogy consecrates the name of the ancestor of this mountain to future generations. On New Year's Eve, all members of the Yu family, including the foreign village branch, will go to Dashuipo Family Temple to worship their ancestors. Since then, Dashuipo has become the base camp of the Yu family, and the Yu family everywhere is used to calling Dashuipo the Yu family, but when it comes to its origin, most of the Yu family in Jiaodong will say that it is "refusing mountains". Therefore, in the preface to the genealogy of Dashuibo, there is such a passage: "Myanmar adopts my ancestors, and totems refuse mountains." Behind the mountain, the flood sounded. When you get to the big water margin, call it three strokes ... "

Later, some clan members moved out of Dashuipo, and they did not forget that rejecting mountains was their "root". The couplet of the Yushi Ancestral Hall in Tongzhou, Beijing is: "The ancestral site of the East China Sea is spread to Yan Ji, and the mountain family has great aspirations." However, the Yu family of Sima Zhuang in Rushan shows that it is "the source of Jin Shize in Chishan, the name of Sima Zhen."

Nowadays, from a few words of folklore, historical materials, local chronicles and genealogy, we can imagine Yu's experience in Chishan, an ancient village in Jiaodong Peninsula, which has attracted more and more scholars to study and discuss.
