The Department of Geotechnical Engineering of North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower has a major in geological and mineral engineering; Geography (science) undergraduate professional resources and environment and urban and rural planning and management; Civil engineering (engineering) undergraduate major in civil engineering (geotechnical engineering).

1) geological engineering major: originally hydrogeology and engineering geology major, it was founded in 1958. At present, this major mainly offers two major directions: engineering geology and environmental geology.

2) Major of Resources, Environment and Urban-Rural Planning and Management: It is a new major that was registered in 2002 according to the demand for talents in the process of urbanization and the development of small towns, as well as the school conditions of our school.

1. Current situation of teaching staff

There are 42 teachers in the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, forming a team of teachers with reasonable age, education and title structure (see the table below for details). Academician Gu, professor, aged 63, is a researcher at the Third Institute of Engineers of the General Staff Department. Long-term engaged in engineering rock mechanics, engineering rock mass reinforcement technology theory and laboratory technology research. He has presided over more than 20 scientific research projects of national defense and General Staff, and more than 20 scientific research projects of hydropower engineering 10, among which "Development and application of PYD-50 triaxial loading geomechanical model experimental device" and "Prestressed anchor cable reinforcement mechanism and design calculation method" won the first prize and the third prize of national scientific and technological progress respectively. In addition, it won 2 third prizes for national scientific and technological progress and 4 first prizes for provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress. At present, he has undertaken the national defense scientific research project "Theory and design calculation method of full-length grouting bolt support" and other projects. Liu Handong, Ph.D., professor, aged 39, is currently the vice president of North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, and the leader of geological engineering discipline, mainly engaged in the teaching and research of environmental engineering geology. 2. Important measures for the construction of teaching staff

The Department of Geotechnical Engineering, formerly known as the Department of Geology, was founded in 1958. It is an old department with a history of more than 40 years. The construction of teaching staff has always been the top priority of the whole department. Especially in recent years, with the deepening of education reform, the demand for teachers is increasing, and some measures have been taken accordingly: First, introduce high-level talents and academic leaders. On June 5438+ 10, 2002, Gu, a researcher at the Third Research Institute of the Engineering Corps of the General Staff of the China People's Liberation Army, an academician of the China Academy of Engineering and an expert in rock mechanics, was employed as a part-time professor in our department and worked in our department for at least one year every year. Geological engineering (formerly hydrogeology and engineering geology) has trained more than 300 undergraduates since 1958 began to recruit undergraduate majors. In recent years, more than 90 students have been enrolled in each session, and the graduates mainly go to survey and design units such as water conservancy, electric power, transportation, railways, urban construction, the Second Artillery Corps of the People's Liberation Army, the Armed Police Hydropower Unit and other related research institutions, such as major river basin design institutes of the Ministry of Water Resources and major hydropower survey and design institutes of Guodian Group. Our department has a large number of geological engineering professionals, such as:

Wang Hongzhu: 1978 ~ 1982 majored in hydrogeology and engineering geology. 1995 ~ 1998 was the deputy mayor of Cangzhou, Hebei province, and now he is the chairman of Beijing Environmental Geology and Geotechnical Technology Co., Ltd.

Lu Xinjing: 1978 to 1982 majoring in hydrogeology and engineering geology. Professor-level senior engineer, currently deputy chief engineer of Yellow River Committee Design Institute of Ministry of Water Resources.

Qin Siqing: 1986 graduated from hydrogeology and engineering geology. He is currently a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, China Academy of Sciences. 1997 was selected into the "Hundred Talents Program" of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Won many awards such as Mao Yisheng Science and Technology Award and enjoyed special government allowance.

Zhu: 1984 graduated, professor-level senior engineer, and now the president of China Ordnance Industry Local Survey and Design Institute.

Tan Yuanlin: 1982 graduated, professor-level senior engineer, and now general manager of Seabuckthorn Company of Ministry of Water Resources.

The Department of Geotechnical Engineering of North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower started to set up geotechnical engineering specialty from 1994, and 1999 was adjusted to the geotechnical engineering direction of civil engineering specialty. The major direction is to cultivate high-level talents who are intersected by geological engineering and civil engineering. Since its establishment, graduates have been concerned by the society and praised by employers, and the demand for graduates is in short supply. At present, this major enrolls 90 ~ 65438 students per session.

Postgraduates in geological engineering 1993 began to enroll students, and so far they have enrolled students 10. Six, laboratory construction

Experimental and practical teaching is an indispensable part of engineering higher education, and laboratory construction is our department's unremitting work. After years of hard work, we now have basic geological laboratories (including geological specimen showrooms), hydrogeology laboratories, engineering geological laboratories, engineering geophysics laboratories, soil mechanics laboratories and rock mechanics laboratories, among which the soil mechanics laboratories and rock mechanics laboratories passed the national quality certification in 2000 and have the statutory geotechnical experimental data qualifications.

Soil mechanics laboratory, rock mechanics laboratory and engineering geophysical exploration laboratory not only completed their respective teaching tasks, but also undertook a large number of experimental research projects and foreign scientific and technological service projects.
