Gongyuan Primary School has had a glorious history during its more than 110 years of existence. The school was founded in 1903. It was originally the "Tongzhou Government Primary School". In 1927, it was renamed the "Jingzhao Women's Normal School" Affiliated Primary School. In April 1922, the school was named the Jingzhao Women's Normal School Affiliated Primary School. Address In the Jingzhao Women's Normal School, there were only two duplex classes for grades one to four with a total of 80 students.
In 1928, it was renamed Hebei Province Sixth Women's Normal School Affiliated Primary School with all single-format classes. In 1936, it was renamed the Primary School Affiliated to Jidongtong County Women's Normal School. In September 1937, it moved into a new school building built on the former site of Gongyuan. In 1938, it was renamed as the Primary School Affiliated to Litong County Women's Normal School of Hebei Province. In November 1961, Hebei transferred the school to the management of Beijing City and renamed it the Second Affiliated Primary School of Beijing Tongxian Normal School. In 1969, it was renamed Tongxian Gongyuan Primary School. In 1990, the bungalow was renovated into a teaching building, giving the school a completely new look. In September 1997, with the reorganization of counties into districts, the school's name was changed to Tongzhou District Gongyuan Primary School.
