Originally named Huayu College of Henan Agricultural University, the College was founded by Henan Agricultural University and Henan Shangqiu Chunlai Education Group in 2002. 20 1 1 April, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was transformed into a private undergraduate college.

By the end of February, 20 17, the school had undertaken 320 teaching and research projects above the municipal level, won 77 teaching and research achievement awards above the municipal level, published 933 academic papers and published 236 books and teaching materials.
