Yuxi Teachers College, located in Yuxi City, is a full-time undergraduate college directly under Yunnan Province. It is a multi-disciplinary university based on normal majors, with the development of arts, law, teaching, management, science, engineering, economics, agriculture, art and philosophy.

In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Yuxi Normal University was merged with Yuxi Adult Education Center and Yuxi Normal University and upgraded to an undergraduate college.

1992 was renamed Yuxi Normal University. In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Yuxi Teachers College merged with Yuxi Teachers College and Yuxi Adult Education and Training Center to form Yuxi Teachers College.
